you’re using products that are full of
harmful ingredients, these are just
going to be sinking in and adding to
your bloodstream. Preventing oxygen
to your skin is when it becomes dull
and breakouts occur.
As well as that, if you do wear makeup
regularly, it is important to adopt
a regular skincare routine. By simply
cleaning your face at the end of each
day you are already getting rid of the
dirt that is gathered in your pores. To
remove absolutely everything, use a
cleanser, then exfoliating your skin
among this will also give it that added
deep clean that we sometimes need;
especially if you’ve applied several
layers of make-up.
You could also try going for a lighter
coverage make-up look. I know
sometimes we all love (and feel like
we need) the full coverage heavy duty
products, but it could be a good idea
to switch it up every once in a while.
Fresh air and exercise is also proven
to help your skin look refreshed.
Promoting the circulation of oxygen
as well as allowing nutrients to be
absorbed more efficiently encourages
your skin cells to grow faster. This
therefore means an increased
collagen production which helps
improve your skin texture and
moisture retention. These factors are
also believed to reduce stress which
of course, is one of skin’s biggest
enemies!
*Collagen is the most prevalent
protein in your skin. It is a primary
component of connective tissue
that helps to keep your skin looking
young. Elastin is also another protein
that works along with collagen to
keep your skin firm and tight; this
gives it elasticity to prevent lines and
wrinkles.*
Your diet is another huge factor that
contributes to how your skin looks;
one rich in fresh foods and low in
processed and refined foods is going
to not only benefit your whole body,
but your skin too. Did you know that
the skin is not only dependent on
oxygen, but also the functioning of
kidneys, intestines aaand your liver.
They’re all about removing waste
products from your body so the less
waste you put in, the less waste there
will be that needs to be removed. This
means that your bodily system will be
fresh which is needed to reduce your
chances of blotchy, blemished skin.
The final two factors I will mention, is
sleep (yay) and water! Your skin cells
regenerate as you sleep so be proud
to go for your 3627288th nap of
lockdown, you’re getting your beauty
sleep. It’s the news we all needed, it’s
the truth and it really does happen
overnight. Then finally, water…
drinking it, spraying your face with it,
freezing it and icing your skin, these
aaaall have their benefits! You don’t
need to buy all these fancy products,
just go to the sink.
