MY MONEYCO-EDITOR ADRIANNA GNIFKAHow To SuccessfullyBudget and PrepareYourself for ChristmasBY ADRIANNA GNIFKAWhether you are making Christmas alow-key affair this year or still going allout despite the possible limitations ofa pandemic, it’s a well-known fact thatChristmas involves a lot of planning.Though the main purpose of thisarticle is to help you gain control ofyour finances during a time of yearwhen all that we as consumers dois spend, a lot of what I will mentioncan be applied to any part of yourlife at any time (not just Christmas),since most of it comes down toorganisation and planning.The first and probably mostimportant rule of budgeting foranything is to grab a pen and somepaper, or even the notes app on yourphone and make lists. Personally,lists are something that I live by - tothe point that if you walked into myroom you would find many post-itnotes with numerous and endlessto-do lists. Even my phone is filledwith hundreds of things in the notesapp that need to be deleted. Do theyalways help? Possibly not, due tomy own procrastination, but when itcomes to budgeting there is nothingI could recommend more. Budgetingwith lists especially around Christmasis something I’ve been doing thesepast few years and has worked for mewithout fail, keeping me on track withmy spending since I would tick thingsoff as I bought them.
