MOT training centre
launches new Boston equipped
site in record time
The Test Centre Training reveals how Boston Garage
Equipment support their business goals and the
importance of ongoing training within the industry.
MOT specialists, The Test Centre Training
have teamed up with Boston Garage
Equipment to open another state-ofthe-art
training facility near Brands
Hatch. The purpose-built training centre
is the fourth addition in the South-East
area, marking a significant step forward
for the company as it continues to grow
within the automotive industry.
“When considering which supplier
to use, Boston continues to be our
preferred choice,” explains director
Ian Wills, who also operates The Test
Centre. “We have their equipment
installed at all of our sites including our
MOT testing centres. As we operate
the busiest MOT centre in the UK, we
need equipment that is both efficient
and reliable. All Boston products are
practically designed to save time and
increase efficiency and the team are
always on hand whenever we require
support. In our experience Boston
consistently provide the best advice
which is always tailored to fit the specific
needs of the workshop.
The new Brands Hatch site is
comprised of 3 fully equipped test lanes
and a dedicated motorcycle bay. It
took just 53 days to get up and running
from signing the lease to teaching the
first training course. This is impressive
considering it took place during the
latest Covid-19 lockdown, Brexit
disruptions and the Christmas holiday
period. It just goes to show the level of
commitment and collaboration that both

As a result, we are considering
extending our current Managers course
in partnership with Boston to include a
day on setting up an MOT station.
This would cover items such as
building regulations, the VT01 form
and legal paperwork. By sharing our
joint knowledge and experience with
customers, we can help them navigate
the whole process more quickly and
efficiently; ultimately supporting them in
running a successful business.
In addition to assisting garages
and testers to remain fully compliant
and work efficiently, we also hope
to have a significant impact on upskilling
technicians particularly within
the electric/hybrid sector. With the
MOT extension impacting workloads
dramatically over the next few years, it’s
never been more important to keep staff
up-to-date with training and ensure they
are fully equipped with the necessary
skills to meet new industry demands.”
