THE BIG INTERVIEW
UTB’s Mark Woollas catches up with LYS MOUSSET...
Lys Mousset is optimistic his goal in
Saturday’s win against Stoke City will
be the catalyst for an upturn in fortunes
with the striker now fully recovered from a
hamstring problem that had hampered his
progress in the opening couple of months of
the campaign.
And the 25-year-old striker, who netted six
times including five during a 10-game purple
patch in United’s first campaign back in the
Premier League, believes he still has a point to
prove to Blades fans who, in his opinion, have
yet to see the best of him in a red and white
striped shirt.
Having impressed boss Slaviša Jokanović
during a disrupted pre-season, Lys fought off
competition from a number of fellow forwards to
start the season in attack and having endured
some gruelling double sessions during the
recent international break, the Frenchman
hopes his strike against the Potters is the first
of many this season as he pushes for a recall to
the starting XI tonight.
Buoyed by the success at the weekend, Lys
is backing a ‘talented’ squad to make up ground
on those above them in the table in a busy
spell before the next round of internationals
in November, as United look to position
themselves to mount a sustained promotion
push during the second half of the season.
