come to terms with it. The year we had
together saw us finish just below mid
table in the Premier League and he is
a real talent. I remember him coming
in during his first season following a
big money move and he hit the ground
running and was a regular in the
squad. I’m sure he’ll fight this like he
has fought to have a successful career
and obviously I’d like to join the Blades
family in wishing him all the best and
hopefully for a speedy recovery.”
⊲ UTB: Finally, if you could offer a
message to the supporters at this
stage of the campaign, what would
it be?
⊲ LM: “I honestly think Blades fans
are the best. They always turn out
in big numbers, home and away and
support the team from the first whistle
to the last. We had some memorable
moments in that first Premier League
season, both at Bramall Lane and on
the road and the fans were a big part
of the success the club has enjoyed
previously. I’m sure they’ll remain right
behind the manager and the players
and hopefully we can give them plenty
of goals and wins to cheer this season
as there is still such a good way to go.”
