Alan McLeary was<br />

twice ever-present<br />

for <strong>Millwall</strong>. Signing<br />

professional at The<br />

Den in October 1981,<br />

he scored in <strong>Millwall</strong>’s<br />

1983 Football League<br />

Trophy final triumph<br />

and was ‘Player of<br />

the Year’ in 1985/86,<br />

featuring in their<br />

rise from the Third<br />

Division to First. He<br />

also helped them<br />

qualify for the Second<br />

Division play-offs in<br />

1990/91 and joined<br />

Charlton Athletic in<br />

May 1993. Following<br />

a spell at Bristol City,<br />

he returned to <strong>Millwall</strong><br />

in February 1997 and<br />

netted five goals in<br />

343 League games<br />

overall for the Lions.<br />

He was joint manager<br />

with Keith Stevens<br />

from May 1999 until<br />

September 2000.<br />

Striker Teddy<br />

Sheringham was<br />

leading marksman<br />

as <strong>Millwall</strong> won the<br />

Second Division title<br />

in 1987/88. Signing<br />

professional at The<br />

Den in January 1984,<br />

he was also top scorer<br />

as the Lions reached<br />

the Second Division<br />

play-offs in 1990/91.<br />

He netted 93 goals in<br />

220 League games<br />

before being sold to<br />

Nottingham Forest<br />

for £2,000,000 in<br />

July 1991, then joined<br />

Tottenham Hotspur for<br />

a similar fee in August<br />

1992 and Manchester<br />

<strong>United</strong> for £3,500,000<br />

in July 1997. Amassing<br />

numerous honours,<br />

including 51 England<br />

caps, he later played<br />

for Spurs again,<br />

Portsmouth, West<br />

Ham and Colchester<br />

<strong>United</strong> before<br />

managing Stevenage.<br />

midfielder Andy<br />

Roberts helped<br />

<strong>Millwall</strong> reach the<br />

2004 FA Cup final.<br />

Signing professional<br />

at The Den in October<br />

1991, he starred as<br />

<strong>Millwall</strong> reached the<br />

First Division play-offs<br />

in 1993/94 and FA<br />

Cup fifth round in<br />

1994/95. He joined<br />

Crystal Palace in<br />

July 1995 and was<br />

‘Player of the Year’<br />

in 1995/96, featuring<br />

in two consecutive<br />

First Division playoff<br />

finals including<br />

their 1997 Wembley<br />

triumph. Moving to<br />

Wimbledon in March<br />

1998, he was loaned<br />

to Norwich City before<br />

rejoining <strong>Millwall</strong> in<br />

August 2002. He<br />

netted eight goals in<br />

204 League games<br />

overall, since working<br />

for his family-run<br />

company Go Travel.<br />

Tony Craig captained<br />

<strong>Millwall</strong>’s 2017 League<br />

One play-off final<br />

triumph. Starting with<br />

<strong>Millwall</strong>, he joined<br />

Crystal Palace in June<br />

2007 but returned to<br />

The Den, initially on<br />

loan, in March 2008.<br />

Featuring in two<br />

League One play-off<br />

finals, including the<br />

Lions’ 2010 success,<br />

he joined Brentford in<br />

July 2012 and was a<br />

League One play-off<br />

finalist in 2013. He<br />

skippered promotion<br />

in 2013/14 and<br />

returned to <strong>Millwall</strong> for<br />

a fourth spell in July<br />

2015. A League One<br />

play-off finalist again<br />

in 2016, he scored<br />

nine goals in 270<br />

League games overall.<br />

He joined Bristol<br />

Rovers in February<br />

2018 and is now at<br />

Crawley Town.<br />
