WELL DONE SIMON
Recently in UTB you will have read about
the fundraising exploits of Blades fan
Simon Jenkins.
We reported that Simon was preparing
for this year’s Great North Run in aid of the
Christie Hospital in Manchester, where he
also works.
We’re delighted to report Simon completed
the run in a time of 2 hours 47 minutes
and came 25,854th. At the time of being
contacted, over £850 had also been raised.
Sadly, just before the race Simon learned of
the untimely passing of fellow Blade Stephen
‘Mouse’ Clifton, and whilst this was set to be
a one off, Simon is now considering running
again next year to raise funds for charities
related to Stephen’s sad passing.

Geoff Taylor (Ontario Blade)
died aged 54 on 12th October
2021 following a fearless
battle with cancer. Geoff is
survived by his wife Meriel,
and their three beautiful
children, Greame married
to Jennifer, son Bryce and
their daughter Emily Kate.
He was a crazy Blades fan
who used to get up early and
go down to the pub in Canada that his friend
owned and made him open up before normal
hours so he could watch United play. He wasn’t
even allowed a drink because pubs in Canada
are not permitted to serve until 11 am. Geoff
attended home and away games on his trips to
the UK and will be sadly missed by all his family
and friends on the Kop. Sithee next game mate.
