Body Casting is another
technique and medium which
I learned the basics from Willa
Shalit, who did a number of
casts of well-known celebrities
and athletes
more about that when
body casting is featured in
the Gallery. Body casting is
done with alginate a nontoxic
substance made from
seaweed. Dentists use this to
make
impressions of teeth for partials
or dentures. The same process
is used in body casting. The
alginate is placed on the body
in the area to be reproduced.
The liquid
alginate turns into a
rubbery substance in
about 10 minutes. This
forms the mold for the cast. The cast is made from a plater acrylic material
that sets permanently. The sample of a body cast here is of a male torso
chest with arms wrapped around titled, “Touch” A cast can be made from
your body or body area, or someone who
models for the cast. I work with all of these mediums. Completed works are
available as originals or prints Full body paintings or drawings or the same of
pets can be consigned. Body casts are also available to be created from your
desired body area to be sculptured.
I work with all of the media described. Completed works are available for
purchase along with consigned original portraits, full body compositions, and body
casts. If you are interested in having any of these works for yourself or as a gift
please contact me at adamsartexpose@gmail.com
More samples of my work will be in future Virtual Gallerys in the Desert Daily Guide.
Hope you enjoy, Thank you.
