Outdoor Learning...
Outdoor Learning has followed a slightly different approach over the past two
weeks. As a school we have been working to make our outside spaces as great
as we can. In addition to our successful first Groundforce Day, our Outdoor
Learning sessions have allowed the children to be involved in a wide variety of
tasks to have a positive and purposeful impact on our grounds. Our sessions in
Year 2 and up have worked on a rotational basis where all children have been
able to take part in fire skills, land management/ landscaping and animal care.
This allows children to not only continue with skills they enjoy, but also have
the opportunity to learn new skills and have new experiences in smaller focused
groups. It’s been great to see how keen all the children have been to get
stuck into all tasks presented to them as well as showing resilience and determination
when faced with more challenging tasks. We are lucky to now be able
to utilise our new farm field to host our Outdoor Learning sessions - the increased
space allows for a wider range of activities but it also allows other ares
of the school to be rested for a more sustainable practice.
