How long have you worked at the brewery /<br />
in telesales? Have you worked in any other<br />
departments? What made you want to work<br />
for the brewery / telesales?<br />
I have worked at St Austell Brewery for seven<br />
years. Before joining Free Trade Support, I<br />
worked in Telesales looking after North and<br />
Central Somerset.<br />
What made you want to work for the<br />
brewery?<br />
I love beer! I’ve always been very passionate<br />
about the St Austell Brewery brands, and I was<br />
excited to work for a local company with an<br />
excellent reputation.<br />
How many customers do you call daily /<br />
weekly?<br />
It really can vary from day to day. I look after<br />
new accounts for the first 11 weeks, which<br />
means we have a smaller diary.<br />

What do you enjoy most about your job?<br />
I enjoy talking with suppliers and learning<br />
about the provenance and history of the<br />
brands that we stock. I’m fascinated by brands<br />
steeped in history like Plymouth Gin. The best<br />
bit though is tasting them!<br />
Do you live close to work?<br />
I live in a village called St Newlyn East which is<br />
between Newquay and Truro.<br />
What is your favourite drink?<br />
I don’t really have a favourite drink. It can vary<br />
from a pint of Thatchers Gold on a hot day to a<br />
pint of Mena Dhu in cooler temperatures. I’m<br />
also partial to the occasional mojito!<br />
What is your favourite St Austell Brewery<br />
beer and why?<br />
Lansdown is a real treat for IPA lovers like<br />
myself.<br />

Has there been a memorable time /<br />
conversation with a particular customer?<br />
I always remember the times when customers<br />
tell me they have had surprise celebrity visitors<br />
in the venue such as Miley Cyrus and Nicholas<br />
Cage. I also remember a conversation with<br />
a chap who I know quite well who spent 20<br />
minutes trying to find his glasses only to find<br />
out they were on his head (sorry Roy).<br />

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at<br />
work?<br />
I’m quite a sporty guy despite being slow and<br />
slightly overweight. I play cricket, football,<br />
squash, and tennis. I also have two dogs, so I<br />
do a lot of walking on the coast path.<br />
