Create successful ePaper yourself
Turn your PDF publications into a flip-book with our unique Google optimized e-Paper software.
Also consider technology systems that assist with following up. Remember, the
money is in the follow up.
5. Focus on developing genuine relationships rather than simply making contacts.
Don’t forget, people do business with people they know, like, trust, and
remember. Consider using FORM (F- family, O- occupation, R- recreation, and
M- motivation/message). Be authentic.
6. Take the time to learn about the people you’re networking with, and work to form
meaningful connections.
Similar to #5, look at contacts as people, not as just someone to buy your
product or service. They may not need or want what you do but they may know
several people who do and you’ll never know if you don’t get to know them.
7. Utilize social media platforms to grow your network and stay connected with
contacts.
Social media can be a very useful tool for networking. What platforms do your
customers use? What platforms do your colleagues use? What platforms do your
potential collaborators use? Are you there?
