INSIGHTS BUT WHAT IS THE POINT OF A VIBRANT, QUIRKY AND THEATRICAL VENUE WITHOUT LIVE MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT TO FILL ITS HALLS? FROM LIVE BANDS TO COMEDY AND EVEN SLAM POETRY, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO SING ALONG, LAUGH AT AND VIBE TO AT LEFTY’S. The sacred, centuries-old Baroona Labor Hall has been home to many night-life businesses in its time. Throughout the 1970s and ‘80s, the building was utilised as a live music hotspot and then a series of nightclubs in the ‘90s. The venue has changed ownership many times but was taken over by Hallmark Group Australia in 2019. To the delight of many in Brisbane, Lefty’s maintained its classic eccentric charm - and its beloved Whiskey Apple cocktail - when it was opened again to the public in <strong>Feb</strong>ruary 2020 as the venue we currently know and love. It’s no doubt the historical and unapologetically quirky Lefty’s Music Hall will continue to introduce Queenslanders to head-bopping live music and the beautiful, vibrant atmosphere of old-timey America. “It’s been great to have everyone back on Caxton Street and to see the iconic destination come alive once again post-pandemic.
