With increasing evidence that eco-friendly, sustainable and responsible travel is much more than a fad (as it’s fast becoming an industry standard) it has worked on futureproofing its homes. “Gas prices are increasing and there is a fear of the future removal of gas appliances,” says Dane Smith- Burchnell, co-founder of The Tiny Housing Co. “We have created an energy-efficient, all-electric range of homes where there’s no need for expensive retrofitting as they will run efficiently from the get-go. “As part of the package we have added triple-glazing, air source heat pumps and mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR). Collectively, they reduce the need for significant amounts of energy to maintain a comfortable room temperature inside the home.” Going further, with a human-led design approach, the team has worked on looking at their materials and have come up with some novel options. “44% of adults have at least one allergy and in the UK there are eight million asthma sufferers.
