ONCE upon a time, somebody built this broad-roofed cottage, facing a little lake
and the afternoon sun. He bridged the stream that flowed beside the door, planted
trees, plowed the rolling fields. He brought home a wife, and made a home. His
little family grew up in the sunshiny place, played on the greensward, swam in. the
lake, climbed the trees, fished from the bridge, and learned the happy lessons that
only home can teach.
