THE EXPERTS IN
CARP FISHING LINES
The first Carp Expert line was made 25 years ago, back in the early days of Energofish,
when there was less data and market feedback, so the designers had to take some brave
decisions. But they paid off as these lines have been hugely successful.
The success of these
monofilaments, which started
with the Carp Expert Black
series, provided a strong base for
the brand to develop a full range covering all
the needs of professional carp anglers.
It covers not just monofilament line but
other essentials like hooks through to the
most modern GPS-navigated bait boats
and, most recently, its baits.
LINING UP
Returning to lines, the first idea paid off so
well that the Carp Expert Black series is
still available today. From this line the range
developed rapidly and today there is a wide
variety of carp lines, from standard monos
to fluorocarbon, tapered lines and of course,
braids.
In the last 25 years, since Carp Expert
Black was introduced, the technology has
developed quickly with and many new
items created.
At the same time, people looked for
standard quality and, shortly after the
UV was introduced along with the Boilie
Special Multicolour. These three models are
still in the range today, as many people were
satisfied with how they performed and saw
no reason to change.

With feedback from anglers and retailers
alike, Energofish began to set standards for
its Carp Expert monofilament. It kept the
150m version of the three older models,
packed in individual paper boxes. For most
lines, the core packing unit is 300m spools.
These come in a transparent PVC box,
with backing card, and the most important
feature is they are parallel-wound. Thanks
to this special spooling process, the line
is spooled tightly, with each thread next
to another. This spooling process provides
perfect line lay on the spools, without being
twisted. It provides less stress for the line,
meaning safer and longer-term storage
without damage, from the factory to the
anglers’ reels.
The third unit in the range is a 1,000m
spool in a metal can, which can protect
the line from most brutal impacts. It
also protects the line from its biggest
enemy, UV light from the sun. This sales
unit became a favourite of anglers and
retailers immediately once introduced. It
doesn’t only look good, it is also safe and
economical at the same time. The 1,000m
spools are packed in inner cartons of four
pieces, which is a convenient quantity even
for the smallest shops.
LEADING THE WAY
2017 became a milestone in the
development of the Carp Expert
monofilament range. After many years of
testing and prototypes, the team managed to
apply Teflon coating on them.
While it had already perfected the process
for braid, it wasn’t so easy for mono.
But the breakthrough allowed it to
introduce the Carp Expert Method
Feeder monofilament with Teflon coating,
providing more advanced casting features
and higher abrasion resistance. When
using Method feeders, these are both very
important. Thanks to that unique process,
Method Feeder monofilament is one of the
most popular lines.
As anglers demand new products, so
Carp Expert delivered. In 2022 Energofish
introduced three new items – Carp Expert
Crystal, Smoke and Prestige.
Smoke was nominated in 2022’s
EFTTEX Digital New Product Showcase,
winning the monofilament category as well
as being runner up in the Anglers’ Choice
award, voted on by anglers from all over the
world.
