STUART PARK CENTRE HAS OPENED
ITS DOORS.
In early May, the Mates4Mates Veteran and Family Wellbeing Centre opened its
doors in Stuart Park to the local veteran and Defence community.
Located at 39 Stuart Highway in Stuart Park, the Mates4Mates Veteran and Family
Wellbeing Centre has been a major project in the works since Mates4Mates received the
$5 million grant from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs in 2020.
The centre includes clinical services, a gym, a veterans’ lounge, as well as space for regular
Mates4Mates social connection activities. The centre also includes other veterans’ support
organisations all with the goal of supporting veterans and Defence Force personnel and
their families in the Northern Territory

MATES4MATES CELEBRATES 10 YEARS
OF SERVICE.
For 10 years, Mates4Mates has supported almost 10,000 current and ex-serving
Defence Force members, and their families, impacted by service.
Established by RSL Queensland in 2013, this year sees Mates4Mates celebrate its 10th
birthday across its locations in the Northern Territory, North Queensland, South East
Queensland, and Tasmania, as well as online.
Joined by local veterans and family members, the Mates4Mates team in the Top End
celebrated the milestone occasion with a party in the park at Marlow Lagoon. With food,
face painting, games and cake on offer, it was a wonderful day for all those who could
attend and celebrate 10 years of Mates4Mates.
COMMEMORATING
ANZAC DAY WITH
THE COMMUNITY
On the 25 April, we paused with
respect to remember all who have
served in wars, conflicts and
peacekeeping operations.
In honour of ANZAC Day, local veterans
and families embraced the ANZAC spirit
and got busy baking some tasty Anzac
biscuits with the Mates4Mates team.
Creating the classic Anzac biscuit as well as
some Anzac biscuit jars, everyone had the
opportunity to bake some tasty treats to
then enjoy with their afternoon tea.
