Dr. Phil. Albrecht Kloepfer<br />
Bureau for communication in health politics<br />
Albrecht Kloepfer studied Musicology and German<br />
Literature in Paris and Berlin. From 1987<br />
to 1999 he taught history <strong>of</strong> German literature<br />
as an academic assistant at several universities<br />
in Berlin and Tokyo. From 1996 to 2001,<br />
he worked as a journalist and editor for the<br />
magazine “Deutschland“ for German Ministry<br />
<strong>of</strong> Foreign Affairs.<br />
Since 2001 Dr. Kloepfer has been focussing<br />
on public relations, event management, lobbying<br />
and strategic communications for enterprises<br />
and associations in health care and public<br />
health. He also is publisher <strong>of</strong> “Letters on<br />
Health Policy,“ a weekly news summary <strong>of</strong> German<br />
health policy, and as a publisher and moderator<br />
he is well known in health political circles<br />
in Germany and in the German speaking EU.<br />
Currently in Berlin’s Hotel Adlon, Dr. Kloepfer<br />
hosts the weekly “Health policy round tables”<br />
as well as regular round tables in Brussels. As<br />
a moderator Dr. Kloepfer brings the different<br />
stakeholders in the health care system together<br />
in public events, closed meetings and<br />
managed care projects.<br />

Voluntarily engaged in raising funds for a rest<br />
home for elderly persons Dr. Kloepfer is very<br />
well aware <strong>of</strong> the day to day challenges related<br />
to the sociatal impact <strong>of</strong> pain. Pr<strong>of</strong>essionally<br />
he is engaged with the Association for <strong>Pain</strong><br />
Specialist in Germany (BVSD).<br />
At the symposium “sociatal impact <strong>of</strong> pain”<br />
Dr. Kloepfer will have 2 functions. He will assist<br />
the EFIC president Pr<strong>of</strong>. Varrassi in the moderation<br />
<strong>of</strong> the plenum sessions and will moderate<br />
one <strong>of</strong> the workshops. After the symposium<br />
his team will realise the symposium proceedings<br />
based on the outcomes <strong>of</strong> the symposium<br />
and workshops.<br />
