Lise Rochaix is full pr<strong>of</strong>essor in economics with<br />
a Ph.D from York University (UK). She is<br />
currently in secondment at the French 'Haute<br />
Autorité de Santé' as a member <strong>of</strong> the board<br />
and chair <strong>of</strong> the technology appraisal<br />
committee in charge <strong>of</strong> economic and public<br />
health dimensions (CEESP – Commission<br />
d’évaluation économique et de santé publique).<br />
Before joining HAS, she had a chair at the<br />
economics department <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Aix-<br />
Marseille II where she was responsible for the<br />
public economics master’s degree, teaching<br />
public economics, labour economics and health<br />
economics. She is a member <strong>of</strong> GREQAM<br />
(Groupe de Recherches en Economie<br />
Quantitative d’Aix-Marseille) and IDEP (Institut<br />
d’Economie Publique) in Marseille. She<br />
is a member <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Directors<br />
<strong>of</strong> the French economics association:<br />
AFSE - Association Française de Sciences<br />
Economiques - and a member <strong>of</strong> the French<br />
association <strong>of</strong> health economists: CES - Collège<br />
des Economistes de la Santé. Her research is<br />
mainly in health economics and her areas <strong>of</strong><br />
interest are related to regulatory issues, in<br />
particular the analysis <strong>of</strong> incentives and their<br />
impact on both providers and patients, from an<br />
efficiency and an equity point <strong>of</strong> view. She has<br />
published a large number <strong>of</strong> articles on these<br />
topics and also taken part in various<br />
governmental task force reports on health<br />
care reforms.
