Embark on a discovery tour through the baroque gard<strong>en</strong><br />
Zabeltitz Baroque Gard<strong>en</strong> with palace and ponds<br />
Magnific<strong>en</strong>t av<strong>en</strong>ues lined with lind<strong>en</strong> and chestnut trees, hedge<br />
groves, pleasure groves and rondels: Ever new vistas invite you to<br />
take a leisurely stroll in the Zabeltitz Baroque Gard<strong>en</strong>. Artful sandstone<br />
figures highlight the gard<strong>en</strong>. Large bodies of water impressively reflect<br />
the spl<strong>en</strong>dor of the park. In strict symmetry, court architect Johann<br />
Christoph Knoeffel designed the Baroque Gard<strong>en</strong> in 1728 by order of<br />
Imperial Count August Christoph von Wackerbarth. Where once<br />
a moated castle had stood, he erected an ornate palace. Together with<br />
the nearby »Old Palace« it fashions a charming architectural <strong>en</strong>semble.<br />
The elongated R<strong>en</strong>aissance building was used as hunting quarters for<br />
Elector Christian I as early as the <strong>en</strong>d of the 16th c<strong>en</strong>tury.<br />
Today, festive ev<strong>en</strong>ts are held in its magnific<strong>en</strong>t palace hall. The baroque<br />
palace is the perfect place for civil wedding ceremonies and subsequ<strong>en</strong>t<br />
celebrations in a truly unforgettable setting. Numerous rooms and a café<br />
are also available for cultural ev<strong>en</strong>ts and confer<strong>en</strong>ces.<br />
