Austria's Commitment to the 2030 Agenda

Guided by the BKMC's mission to foster leadership for the Sustainable Development Goals, we have been closely collaborating with the Austrian Federal Chancellery since 2018 to advance the implementation of the SDGs in and by Austria. On the margins of the UN High-Level Political Forum 2023, we are very proud to launch the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens publication “Austria’s Commitment to the 2030 Agenda”. The publication covers national, European, and global efforts to implement the SDGs.  Against the backdrop of multiple crises, it is now more important than ever to find global solutions based on cooperation, partnership, and sustainability. Dive into our report and check out milestone activities, good practice examples, and initiatives of SDG implementation in Austria from 2019 to 2023.

At <strong>the</strong> main SDG stakeholder event of <strong>the</strong> year - <strong>the</strong> SDG Dialogue<br />

Forum - Austria brought <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r experts from business, academia,<br />

civil society, government, states and municipalities <strong>to</strong> jointly develop<br />

concrete and innovative approaches <strong>to</strong> SDG implementation.<br />

The aim of <strong>the</strong> SDG Dialogue Forums is<br />

<strong>to</strong> promote <strong>the</strong> effective implementation<br />

of <strong>the</strong> <strong>2030</strong> <strong>Agenda</strong> and its sustainable<br />

development goals. Therefore, experts<br />

from a wide range of fields address current<br />

issues in an organized setting, seeking <strong>to</strong><br />

develop solutions <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r. The reputation<br />

of <strong>the</strong> SDG Dialogue Forums as a place<br />

for exchange and increased commitment<br />

<strong>to</strong> SDG implementation is underscored<br />

by <strong>the</strong> participation of numerous decision-makers,<br />

including several members<br />

of <strong>the</strong> federal government. Because <strong>the</strong><br />

SDG Dialogue Forums bring stakeholders<br />

<strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r and provide space for discourse<br />

and coordination on various <strong>to</strong>pics before<br />

and after <strong>the</strong> actual event, <strong>the</strong>y make are<br />

considered a particularly valuable contribution<br />

<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> implementation of <strong>the</strong> SDGs<br />

in and by Austria.<br />

First SDG Dialogue Forum: Innovative ideas<br />

and high-profile involvement<br />

On 28th September 2021, <strong>the</strong> first SDG<br />

Dialogue Forum on <strong>the</strong> issue of “Building<br />

forward better with <strong>the</strong> <strong>2030</strong> <strong>Agenda</strong>:<br />
