Right Backs
• Remit: Identify a right back who has long term
experience in playing in (but not limited to) a back
four and has the skillset to be a) an attacking full
back with good creative metric numbers and good
crossing ability and b) one that is asked to
perform a more defensive role with high
defensive metric numbers and the ability to be a
right sided center back in a back three out of
possession if need be. Ideally, he would be a
combination of the two.
• Parameters;
• Good creative numbers (xThreat, Assists etc).
• Strong defensive numbers.
• A strong dribbler with the ball and an end
product.
• Able to adapt to different roles within Aston
Villa’s system both in, and out, of possession.
• To add balance and a separate attacking
option to the right side of the starting eleven.
