Conclusion & Resource Summary

That concludes the recruitment plan for this

season, and I hope everyone that has taken the

time to read it has found it informative and given

everyone food for thought on Aston Villa’s

possible transfer targets ahead of the 2023-2024

season where we will need a squad not only full of

high-quality players in addition to the ones we

have already at the club but ones that are able to

perform at an even higher level with us having

Europa Conference League Football this season.

Some of these players will be familiar to many and

some may not, some of the techniques used may

be familiar and again some may not. What always

remains the same is staying true to ones trained

eye , questioning the data at every turn, using and

implementing strategies used working at, and for,

various clubs and organizations, being aware of

the way transfers and recruitment works in all its

parts, and most importantly of all be open to any

possibilities and always be willing to learn.

Although this plan is a more fan-friendly version geared towards those with

a reasonable understanding of data analysis in football, the main purpose of

it is to give fans an insight into one part of the recruitment process and how

this is constructed and carried out. In stadium scouting, video analysis and

other areas of preparation including the compilation, maintenance and

filtering of a vast database used in these analyses is also a vital component.
