Originally a wide midfielder, Ruibal has been a
consistent performer for Betis having been at the club
since the start of the 2020-2021 La Liga season. Think
of a Spanish Wan-Bissaka and that pretty much sums
up Ruibal, good at the defensive stuff but unlike Wan-
Bissaka Ruibal has a skillset that means he is a little
better in the attacking phases. A competent dribbler of
the ball he is more than capable of driving into the
penalty area too the only part missing is the end
product. He is happy to bomb forward just like his
countryman Alex Moreno on the Villa left-hand side its
just that final part that can elude him (he registered no
assists from an xA of 1.1 in 22\23). In his defense he
has played limited minutes this season and found
himself in an out of the side being substituted on
multiple occasions and starting 24\37 games in all
competitions. He is a better defensive full back judging
by his numbers than Cash but he does offer slightly
more offensively.
