FORTHE KATEVALLEY LANDFILL COMMUNITY TRUST<br />
The Kate Valley Landfill Community Trust isseeking nominations for one<br />
community trustee from the Waipara Community Area.<br />
The principal task ofthis charitable Trust is to distribute funds provided by<br />
Transwaste <strong>Canterbury</strong> for purposes that are beneficial topeople whose<br />
principal place of residence is within the contributing area to the Waipara<br />
School (the Community Area). This includes funding community activities or<br />
facilitiesinany location that are capable of conferring suchbenefit.<br />
In the event ofmore than one nomination being received, apublic meeting<br />
will be held in the Waipara Memorial Hall onMonday, 13November <strong>2023</strong>.<br />
Voting will be open from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Avote will take place to elect one<br />
trustee whowillbeappointed for atermofthree years. It will be arequirement<br />
of those wishing to vote to be present onthe night of this election meeting<br />
and to sign aregister stating their nameand addressinorder that eligibility to<br />
vote can be assessed.Noproxy/absentee votes willbeaccepted. Theexisting<br />
trustee whose term is expiring is not precluded from offering themselves for<br />
re-election.<br />
The Kate Valley Landfill Community Trust is made upofthree Community<br />
trustees, one Amberley trusteeand twoSettlor’s trustees.<br />
Who Can Be Nominated?<br />
Any person over the age of 18 whoseprincipalplaceofresidence is withinthe<br />
Waipara Community Area identified onthe planinthe Trust Deed..<br />
Who Can Make aNomination?<br />
Any person over the age of 18 whose principal place of residence is within<br />
theCommunity Areaand whosename and address appears on theapplicable<br />
current electoralroll.<br />
How Can aNomination Be Made?<br />
Written notice in theform of aletterofnomination is required. This must:<br />
•Contain the full name and residential address of the person making the<br />
nomination,and that person’sdate ofbirth and signature.<br />
•Contain a signed statement of willingness to serve as a trustee from<br />
the person nominated, together with his/her full name, date of birth and<br />
residential address.<br />
•Becomplete in all respects and be received by The Secretary, Kate Valley<br />
LandfillCommunity Trust, on or before the closing dateofFriday, 20 October<br />
<strong>2023</strong>.<br />

EDUCATION AWARD <strong>2023</strong><br />
The Rotary Club of Rangiora awards agrant each<br />
year in memory of aformer member, Alex Murray,<br />
to assist ayoung person about to leave school to<br />
undertake further training at an education centre,<br />
polytechnic or university.<br />
The grant, to a value of $5000, will be awarded<br />
to ayoung person living in either the Waimakariri<br />
or Hurunui Districts. The grant is to assist with<br />
course costs and/or study materials (excluding<br />
accommodation costs) over the first two years of<br />
tertiarystudy.<br />
We are calling for applications for this grant for study<br />
to becommenced in 2024.<br />
