FORTHE KATEVALLEY LANDFILL COMMUNITY TRUST
The Kate Valley Landfill Community Trust isseeking nominations for one
community trustee from the Waipara Community Area.
The principal task ofthis charitable Trust is to distribute funds provided by
Transwaste Canterbury for purposes that are beneficial topeople whose
principal place of residence is within the contributing area to the Waipara
School (the Community Area). This includes funding community activities or
facilitiesinany location that are capable of conferring suchbenefit.
In the event ofmore than one nomination being received, apublic meeting
will be held in the Waipara Memorial Hall onMonday, 13November 2023.
Voting will be open from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Avote will take place to elect one
trustee whowillbeappointed for atermofthree years. It will be arequirement
of those wishing to vote to be present onthe night of this election meeting
and to sign aregister stating their nameand addressinorder that eligibility to
vote can be assessed.Noproxy/absentee votes willbeaccepted. Theexisting
trustee whose term is expiring is not precluded from offering themselves for
re-election.
The Kate Valley Landfill Community Trust is made upofthree Community
trustees, one Amberley trusteeand twoSettlor’s trustees.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Any person over the age of 18 whoseprincipalplaceofresidence is withinthe
Waipara Community Area identified onthe planinthe Trust Deed..
Who Can Make aNomination?
Any person over the age of 18 whose principal place of residence is within
theCommunity Areaand whosename and address appears on theapplicable
current electoralroll.
How Can aNomination Be Made?
Written notice in theform of aletterofnomination is required. This must:
•Contain the full name and residential address of the person making the
nomination,and that person’sdate ofbirth and signature.
•Contain a signed statement of willingness to serve as a trustee from
the person nominated, together with his/her full name, date of birth and
residential address.
•Becomplete in all respects and be received by The Secretary, Kate Valley
LandfillCommunity Trust, on or before the closing dateofFriday, 20 October
2023.

EDUCATION AWARD 2023
The Rotary Club of Rangiora awards agrant each
year in memory of aformer member, Alex Murray,
to assist ayoung person about to leave school to
undertake further training at an education centre,
polytechnic or university.
The grant, to a value of $5000, will be awarded
to ayoung person living in either the Waimakariri
or Hurunui Districts. The grant is to assist with
course costs and/or study materials (excluding
accommodation costs) over the first two years of
tertiarystudy.
We are calling for applications for this grant for study
to becommenced in 2024.
