Mii amo Spa at Sedona, Arizona,USAThe building is a three-storeyed post-andbeamstructure that is planked with diagonalbuttressing sheathing. The outer wallsbear an exterior lime plastering on lightweightwood wool construction slabs,behind which lies a 12-cm-thick celluloseinsulation. The insides of the exterior wallsconsist of 20-cm-thick rammed lightweightwoodchip shaving loam coated with loamplastering. The weather-exposed gable isprovided with rear-ventilated larch woodsheathing. The inner walls are filled in withadobes. The brick roof and the balcony projectsoutward so that the southern roomsare shadowed in summer, yet admit sunlightin wintertime.186Built examples
