The Hatshepsut experience reveals<br />

<strong>the</strong> pages of history and lets <strong>the</strong>m step <strong>in</strong>to<br />

<strong>the</strong> world of ancient Egypt <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> first-ever<br />

immersive show to tell <strong>the</strong> story of Hatshepsut,<br />

<strong>the</strong> first female pharaoh of <strong>the</strong> empire.<br />

This extraord<strong>in</strong>ary visual experience, on<br />

show until 18 <strong>February</strong>, blends historical<br />

facts with mesmeriz<strong>in</strong>g storytell<strong>in</strong>g and flies<br />

us back more than 3000 years. Hatshepsut,<br />

<strong>the</strong> audacious pharaoh queen, hail<strong>in</strong>g from<br />

<strong>the</strong> celebrated Eighteenth Dynasty of ancient<br />

Egypt, defied conventions, dared to<br />

transcend traditional roles by stepp<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to<br />

<strong>the</strong> shoes of k<strong>in</strong>gs and thus left an <strong>in</strong>delible<br />

mark on <strong>the</strong> legacy of pharaohs.<br />

The ultimate goal of Ram Nath, <strong>the</strong> show’s<br />

producer was to <strong>in</strong>troduce us to <strong>the</strong> once<br />

nearly erased legacy of this trailblaz<strong>in</strong>g pharaoh<br />

queen who has sculpted Egypt <strong>in</strong>to an<br />

era of unprecedented prosperity <strong>in</strong> trade,<br />

culture and architecture.<br />

<strong>in</strong> Al Khayat Art Avenue serves as <strong>the</strong> perfect<br />

backdrop for this extraord<strong>in</strong>ary experience,<br />

a perfect fusion of enterta<strong>in</strong>ment and<br />

education that unravels <strong>the</strong> enigmatic saga<br />

of <strong>the</strong> queen who dared to be k<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

The groundbreak<strong>in</strong>g Hathsepsut experience<br />

followed a series of exceptional artplugged-<strong>in</strong><br />

exhibitions over <strong>the</strong> past year,<br />

embody<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> core mission of kanvas: to<br />

become an <strong>in</strong>tegral player on <strong>the</strong> cultural<br />

canvas of <strong>the</strong> Middle East and br<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>novative<br />

art forms closer to a broader audience.<br />

Build<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> narratives of past experiences,<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir upcom<strong>in</strong>g shows promise a visual<br />

feast for art enthusiasts.<br />

First <strong>in</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e is a retrospective solo exhibition<br />

of <strong>the</strong> visionary contemporary visual<br />

artist, Kristel Bechara titled “A Symphony<br />

of Shadows and Light” co<strong>in</strong>cid<strong>in</strong>g with Art<br />

Dubai, <strong>the</strong> region’s largest art fair. In her new<br />

vernissage, Bechara pushes her boundaries<br />

to embrace new dimensions of advanced<br />

technologies.<br />

That will be followed by a trailblaz<strong>in</strong>g<br />

data visualization project titled „What Lies<br />

Beneath” which delves <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> mysterious<br />

depths of <strong>the</strong> oceans. The unprecedented<br />

visual experience, redesigned and upgraded<br />

for kanvas, is crafted from open-source<br />

datasets of ocean life by talented media artist<br />

and motion graphic designer, Susan Kosti.<br />

The orig<strong>in</strong>al work was commissioned by<br />

NSW Dest<strong>in</strong>ation for Vivid Sydney, one of <strong>the</strong><br />

largest digital art festivals of <strong>the</strong> world.<br />
