For 30 years, mineral cosmetics brand
jane iredale has been sowing seeds
of change in the beauty industry,
cultivating a community of women who

In 2024, the brand that launched a
movement to #cleanbeauty mineral
makeup, celebrates 30 years of
pioneering skincare makeup.
JANE'S STORY
Thirty years ago, Jane Iredale, while
working in the television and film
industry, realised that conventional
makeup was undermining the skin’s
health and wellbeing. Long before the
world had even coined the term ‘clean
beauty’, Jane set out to make a change.
She envisioned a makeup that was
good for skin; with equal parts clean
ingredients, skin-loving benefits and
no-fade performance. She knew that
what you put on your skin can change
you, and she decided to make a change
for the better. That’s when jane iredale
Skincare Makeup was born.
And with a single product, Amazing
Base Loose Mineral Powder, she
revolutionised the beauty industry.
Formulated with nourishing and
protective ingredients like pomegranate
and algae extracts, Amazing Base
was immediately embraced by skin
professionals all over the world.
Dermatologists and plastic surgeons
praised its ability to soothe, cover
and protect, and patients loved that it
didn’t feel like makeup. Free of known
irritants and, with a skin-boosting
formulation, Amazing Base helped
restore and protect skin, without
sacrificing performance and the brand
quickly took off.
Jane’s belief has always been that ‘skin

The natural skincare formulas and
multitasking mineral makeup are highperformance,
clean (free of parabens,
talc, phthalates, synthetic fragrance,
fillers and GMO ingredients), preserved
using only highly effective natural
