Murrell shares her insights
around what’s going to be on
everyone’s lips this Autumn.
This Autumn, we’re bucking the trend
and going against the grain of the usual
berries and browns. As the months
cool, our makeup colour palette is not
predicted to follow suit. Bright colours
are set to reign supreme this season;
Expect to see bold and bright eyeliners,
lip colours and for those who dare,
brightly hued hair.
There is also a new term titled "soft
grunge" which allows for a more soft,
modern twist on the harsher looks
of the 90’s which encapsulates last
season’s darker liners and brown lips,
and recreates them using more muted,
barely there glosses and softer brown lip
colours. Healthy, glowing skin still reigns
over the matte look, and encourages us
to put the emphasis on great skincare
and natural looks, rather than the
application of thick foundation. There’s
also a kind of “cute girl" beauty look
which looks like rose cheeks, doll like
lashes and soft feathery brows which
we’re seeing a lot of online. " Soft glam"
is a new term I like. We all need a bit of
glam in our lives even if it’s soft, and it
looks like natural, balanced makeup but
elevated - think glazed cheeks, lined
lips paired with a soft gloss or Lip Tint,
feathered brows and elevated lashes.
If you’re daring and opting to rock the
bold lip colours this season, I advise
balancing the colour and pairing
them with the same well-groomed
feathered eyebrows and elevated
lashes.
I’m absolutely thrilled with the
reception our freshly illustrated boxes
have received, and we are starting
to see an immediate lift in the colour
21 Fiery Ruby, this shade sold out!
16 Lavender Laughter is also proving
to be very popular, and the colour 21
Blushing Rose (a pink nude) has also
gained very strong ground again.
This season you’ll find me loving
16 Lavender laughter, and I’ve been
alternating it with 23 Blushing Rose
which I wear on my lips and as a blush
on my cheeks.
