29 C.VALE REPORT | 2023 INVESTMENTS 2023 New enterprises The new C.Vale Weaned Piglet Production Unit (UPD) began operating in 2023. The 31,250 square meter project, built in the Floresta district, in the interior of Palotina (PR), has the capacity to house 5,000 sows, with an annual production of 160,000 piglets. The new structure, air-conditioned and automated, with four gestation sheds and one maternity shed, also includes biodigesters with a production capacity of 5,700 KWh/day.
