CRYSTAL
GRIDS
Sue Penney
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Crystal grids can be used for all sorts of things from setting
intentions to healing. Many different grids are available,
and you can download basic templates from the internet.
As always, working with crystals, there are no hard and fast
rules. In fact, the more that you use your intuition the
better. It was interesting when I started to work with
crystals that when I used my intuition first and researched
the crystal properties second, they never failed to
correspond to what I wanted to achieve.
There are lots of books available on crystal grids from their
uses to setting them up and also a wealth of information
on the internet. I thought that I would just share with you a
simple grid that I have set up myself, the desired outcome
and the reason for using the crystals that I have chosen.
A crystal grid for prosperity and good luck
Apart from writing my books and articles for this
wonderful publication, I also own and run a small
accountancy practice with a fantastic team in Hampshire.
What I want to achieve for the business:
Sustained and profitable growth for the business that is
gentle on myself and my team. To attract the right kind of
clients who value what we do for them and are responsible
and respectful to us.
To increase the turnover by a specified amount a month
and attract the right people to come and join our team.
The Crystals used and the reasons why:
Centre - Rose Quartz for love of myself and my team.
Gentle nurturing energy to support us in our quest. This is
the stone of love and peace and brings calming
reassurance.
4

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Rose quartz will draw loving, trustful relationships towards
us.
An image of my grid is on the previous page.
The inner ring is formed of natural Citrine which is known
as the prosperity stone. It grounds negative energy and
cleanses and regenerates. Perfect for regenerating the
business. This stone will also bring abundance to us. It will
raise the self-esteem and self-confidence of myself and the
team.
The outer ring is Green Aventurine. Another stone of
prosperity and also protection and for these reasons it is
often used widely in grids. It reinforces leadership qualities
and aids quick decision making.
It will help me to see more clearly and define the right path
for my team, myself and the business in general. It is
known to aid creative thought patterns whilst bringing
things back under control and dissipating negative
thoughts.
I have used the three different crystals in the pattern I
selected as I want the heart and love to be at the centre of
all we do.
The goal is for a prosperous and profitable business whilst
protecting myself and my team against any negativity.
I have clearly written my intentions on a piece of paper
and put this under the grid.
Next, I joined and activated the grid using my clear quartz
crystal wand whilst holding my intention at the forefront of
my mind and asking my guides and angels to support me in
this work and bringing about the result for the higher good
of all.
Now I just need to wait for the crystals to do their magic…
USING YOUR
INTUITION
Sue Penney
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
You know that feeling you get? You know the one, the
feeling deep inside yourself, that nagging feeling that
something is just not right. You can’t put your finger on
it, you question yourself. You allow your head to get
involved. You ignore it. You push it down and don’t
listen. You shut your ears and close your eyes. You
don’t want to know. It will just go away if you ignore it,
won’t it?
No, it won’t. That is your intuition calling you. It is
screaming for you to sit up and take notice. It is giving
you a gentle tap on the shoulder. A, “listen to me, I am
trying to warn you about something that is really really
important”. But you don’t want to listen. Perhaps you
don’t want to face it. Perhaps you have refused to listen
for so long that you have lost confidence in yourself, in
your own protection mechanism.
Well, guess what! The universe will make you listen.
You have a choice. You either listen to that gentle tap,
that feeling in your gut that something is wrong, or the
universe is likely to come and whack you around the
head by a piece of 4” x 2”.
Your intuition is a huge gift. It is something that we all
have. We are all born with it, and it can save our lives. It
is our inner protection system, and it is like a radar. Our
intuition is felt in our gut, this is where the saying “a gut
feeling” comes from. However, it dwells in the whole of
our body. It floats in our aura. It has its feelers out and
is on high alert the whole time. It is our connection with
the universe and collective consciousness.
So, how does this actually work? You might get a
suspicion about someone, someone who know well or
that you have only just met. You might instantly like or
dislike someone. You may get a strong feeling to drive
home a different way to normal or to call a friend that
you have not spoken to for a while.
6

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
You may find out why you felt like this, or the reason may
never become apparent. It does not matter. The fact that
you listened is the most important thing. You may have
avoided being involved in an accident by driving home a
different way. Your friend may have been feeling lost and
dejected and really needed to be reminded that they were
not on their own. They may never tell you. This does not
matter.
How can you fine-tune this inner gift? This is simple. Just by
paying attention and listening to that inner voice and
feeling. Our modern lives are so busy, and so full of things
that need to be done. We often don’t have time to catch
our breath from the moment we awake until the moment
we go back to sleep. This can lead us to ignore our inner
warnings and feelings. Please don’t. Please make time.
Listen to yourself and honour those thoughts and feelings.
Take some time each day to check in with yourself. Sit
quietly, even for just 10 minutes with a cup of tea and
listen. Trust your inner voice. Pay attention to the gentle
taps because no one wants to be on the receiving end of a
universal 4” x 2”. The more you listen, the more in tune you
will become with yourself and the universe, and you will be
able to take advantage of great opportunities that the
universe will present you with.
You will be able to tap into the infinite resources that are
available to each and every one of us if we just listen and
pay attention.
Life is generally good and positive. Everything is constantly
shifting and changing and by paying attention you can
change and adapt to any negative situations much more
quickly.
So, the next time you get that nagging feeling in your gut.
Stop, pay attention and listen. You might just change your
life for the better.
FLASHDARKS AND
NEGATIVE ENERGY
John Sjovik
When I was a boy, I wanted a flashdark. On a sunny day, I would point it to a corner of a room, press the
switch and it would cast a beam of darkness that would disperse all light in that corner and make it completely
dark. I imagined how fun it would be to be outdoors and surprise a pigeon by creating darkness in the spot
where it was standing all the while the area around it would bathe in sunlight. How surprised the pigeon would
be.
Sadly, I never got a flashdark. I doubt if anyone will ever invent one. Unless my knowledge of science is too
limited, there are indeed scientific barriers to such a contraption.
Opposite or absence
We often get tricked by our human understanding of the world around us; by the apparent impressions we get
of it, as registered by our senses. We talk about light & dark, heat & cold and good energy & bad energy. We
talk about them as if they were opposites, each of them existing in its own right. Yet, there is only light and
there is only heat. Dark and cold is the absence of light and heat. I even maintain that there is only energy,
neither good nor bad. I have some more comments on that below.
You can add and remove light. At night, your living room is in light or darkness depending on if the ceiling lamp
is switched on or off. You can add and remove heat. The items in a freezer are cold because heat has been
removed from them. It is impossible to add cold to them.
8

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Good and bad
What about good and bad? Let us for a brief moment
look at fiction and the Harry Potter books. In those
books, there is a type of creature called “dementor”.
They feed upon happiness and good feelings. They
will drain you of peace and joy and even take your
soul, given half a chance. The important thing here is
that the dementors do not give you anything. They
take away. They remove everything good but do not
add anything bad.
Good and absence of good
My own personal spiritual belief is that there is no
such thing as negative energy.
What you as a human being perceive as negative or
bad, is really the absence of positive or good or an
imbalance or disharmony.
From a metaphysical viewpoint, things would be very
strange and complicated if there existed flows of
negative energy as well as positive energy. For one
thing, the expression “negative energy” is valuebased,
but what is negative for one person, might
well be positive for someone else. For the same
reason, there is no such thing as “positive energy”
either! As I see it, there is only flow of energy,
intrinsically neither good nor bad.
As a practitioner of Shamanism, I work with
correcting balances that are off, energy that is
misplaced, lack of power, soul loss and much more.
But I never work with “negative energy”. I may use
the words positive and negative when I talk to the
client, but only as a way to communicate in normal
everyday language.
So to come back to the title of this text, Flashdarks
do not exist and neither does Negative Energy.
I wish you a wonderful day, with balance, harmony
and a free flow of energy.
CARE FOR LOVED
ONES AT HOME
Joannah Bishop
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Supporting your loved ones at home can be really
difficult.
Not everyone has the capacity, physically or
mentally to cope seeing their loved ones becoming
more fragile and struggling with looking after
themselves. Dementia is touching all our lives in so
many guises it is often hard to know what to do for
the best. Where do you turn to, who can help
support you, to support your loved ones?
There are so many things to consider both
spiritually and physically on how to do the right
thing. Being a full or part-time carer for your family
is so hard. If your loved ones are unable to
safeguard themselves or make informed decisions,
you may well be entering a minefield.
BetterCare@HomeEast help you navigate difficult
decisions, and give you advice on advance care
planning, support groups and so much more. We
also care about you and can help point you in the
right direction to cope with very difficult situations
We are a limited company owned and run by
Joannah Bishop, a well-respected, award-winning
member of the business community in Dorset.
Joannah’s early career was in managing radio
stations in London and across the southwest,
leading to her owning a community radio station in
Poole, alongside running a very successful digital
marketing agency.
During this time, she has also chaired many
successful women’s networking groups and has a
CIM in marketing and business.
10

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Joannah has always been a caring, compassionate
person, striving to put the health, feelings and
safety of others first. It was these exact traits that
gave her the vision to form a care company that
does just that - BetterCare@HomeEAST.
Joannah is trained to Gold Standard in End of Life
Care and holds certificates in Dementia Care, Level
5 Lifesaving, Catastrophic Bleeding and a
Distinction Diploma (level 3 & 5) in Health and
Social Care, Certified Death Doula and it doesn’t
end there, Joannah is constantly adding to her
qualifications.
All BetterCare@HomeEAST carers have a warm,
genuine approach to care which is apparent as
soon as you have the pleasure of meeting them.
All carers are trained to nationally recognised
standards and are encouraged and funded to
continue their training and professional
development. As well as this, all carers are
MOTHER MARY & THE
HOLY GRAIL
Julie de Vere Hunt
In Graham Phillip’s book “The Marian Conspiracy” (published
in 1999), the author uncovers staggering evidence
concerning the life and death of Mother Mary, suppressed
by the Catholic Church for centuries. It is a fascinating read
– told as a detective story following a trail from the Vatican,
Israel, Turkey and finally to Britain.
Mary was born in 19 BC in Capernaum. She was the
daughter of Matthias, the priest of the Capernaum
synagogue, and Anna, a woman from the royal house of
David. Around ten years later Matthias was appointed high
priest of the great temple in Jerusalem, where Anna became
a prophetess and Mary grew up in the temple precincts.
As the daughter of the most important religious figure in
Judea, Mary was married to King Herod’s first son,
Antipater, the Roman-endorsed heir to the throne. When
the king’s sister Salome poisoned Herod’s mind against his
eldest son in favour of her nephew Philip, Antipater was
arrested and killed. The arrest of Antipater’s family was
ordered but Mary was smuggled out of the palace and
escaped with Joseph.
As recorded in the New Testament, Mary gave birth to
Yeshua (Antipater’s son) in humble surroundings in nearby
Bethlehem. In Jerusalem, Matthias was arrested and made
to reveal where Mary and her new born son were. Herod
ordered the massacre of all new born babies in Bethlehem
but Mary and Joseph managed to flee to Egypt. When
Herod died shortly after, Mary, Joseph and baby Yeshua
returned to Judea but settled in Nazareth, where she was
unknown. Joseph worked as a carpenter, married Mary and
raised Yeshua along with his younger siblings.
Fast forward to present day. Theologians have argued for
centuries over the location of Mother Mary’s tomb.
12

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
The two contested locations were in Jerusalem’s valley of
Jehosaphat, while others said her final resting place was in
the Roman ruins of Ephesus in Turkey.
In the 1950’s the Vatican instigated a secret project to
investigate the authenticity of the two tombs. The Vatican’s
archaeologist Giovanni Benedetti was unable to unearth any
historical evidence validating either of these two sites, but
claimed to have found persuasive evidence for a third and
completely forgotten tomb.
Benedetti was about to publish his findings when Pope Pius
XII declared the Assumption dogma, i.e. as Mother Mary had
ascended bodily into heaven there was no tomb of her
anywhere on Earth. Benedetti was summoned to the Vatican
and told to keep quiet. As a devout Catholic, under the
threat of excommunication, Benedetti reluctantly agreed
and remained silent for the rest of his life.
The Gospel of John says when Jesus was on the cross, he
asked an unnamed disciple to look after Mother Mary. As
Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus were the only male
followers there, it is likely that Joseph of Arimathea, as
Mother Mary’s brother, would have taken that charge on.
4th century documents in the Vatican record Joseph of
Arimathea fleeing Palestine and settling outside the Roman
Empire somewhere in the far north. 12th century Grail
romances all portray the land as Britain.
Ephesus in Turkey
As Mother Mary’s surviving male relative, he would have
brought her with him. Joseph of Arimathea was a wealthy
shipping merchant with a fleet of ships at his disposal.
In the 1st century Britain’s rich mineral deposits had been
attracting Mediterranean traders for at least 500 years. Tin,
copper and lead had been exported from Cornwall, Wales
and Somerset from the 5th century BC.
Joseph of Arimathea would have sailed to all these regions
and have contacts there. Furthermore, the Romans had not
yet invaded Britain and Joseph of Arimathea would have
considered it a safer place than Alexandria.
According to the British monk Gildas, writing in the 6th
century, some of Jesus’ original disciples came to Britain in
the last year of Tiberius’ reign – 37 AD.
Roman Emperor Tiberius
13

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
In 597 St Augustine came to Britain as an envoy of the
Roman Catholic Church. After travelling widely, he wrote to
the Pope telling him that :-
‘In the western confines of Britain there is a certain royal island
of large extent, surrounded by water, abounding in all the
beauties of nature and necessaries of life. In it, the first
neophytes of Catholic Law, found a church constructed by the
hands of Christ himself. He continues to watch over it as sacred
to Mary, the Mother of God.’.
If Augustine was right, this church was dedicated to Mother
Mary. Until the 8th century churches were only dedicated to
saints whose tombs they were believed to house. Here is a
1400-year-old reference to Mary’s tomb being in the British
Isles.
Medieval accounts of Joseph of Arimathea’s journey to
Britain say he founded a church and resided there with
Mother Mary for 15 years. It was on an island in the west of
Britain that Augustine was shown the mysterious church
named after Mother Mary.
Phillips concludes that Anglesey is the only island that
matches this description. It is the largest island in England
and Wales. It was royal too, which during Augustine’s time,
contained the seat of the Dark Age kings of Gwynedd. It
was also prosperous, known as the bread basket of northern
Wales.
St Augustine
Phillips concludes in his book that Anglesey was Avalon.
Where Mother Mary’s tomb is, remains a mystery…
But why did Mother Mary stay in Anglesey for 15 years?
Kathleen McGowan* has been researching Mary Magdalene
for over 30 years and believes there is a strong possibility
Mary took her young grandson, Yeshua David with her.
I believe he had a twin sister, Anna. They were the bloodline
of Yeshua and had to be protected at all cost – the Holy
Grail.
Words of their existence gradually seeped out and legends
were born, not recorded until the 12th century.
Centuries later Yeshua David would become known as King
Arthur and Anna as Morgan le Fey.
14

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
* Kathleen is on Patreon and gives two 90 minute Q & A talks
every month – for anyone interested in Mary Magdalene and
the Divine Feminine they are essential listening.
My next book will focus on the life of the twins in Wales -
primarily focusing on Morgan le Fey, who
along with her mother Mary Magdalene, has been
misrepresented for the last 2000 years.
Much has been written about King Arthur, in heroic terms,
whilst Morgan le Fey has all but been
demonised.
It is time to shine the light on the Divine Feminine and
reveal what an amazing woman she was...
ENERGY, VIBRATION
& JOY
Carol Coggan
A very joyful May and June to you!
As spring moves into summer, I always become excited,
and my vibration and energy are increasing. We are well
and truly alongside nature bursting with new growth
and vitality. In the last few months, we have looked at
the vibration scale, moved up it using gratitude and
thankfulness and explored the vibration of love.
I want to share with you a gift from a friend. A rockmulticoloured
and decorated, with the word “Joy“
centre stage. Have a good look at the picture, the rock
has been decorated on the back too. Look at its shape,
it is almost heart shape or a shape that can be held in
the hand. This rock shows me (and you) a multiple of
teachings.
It was given as a gift, and so I could express gratitude to
my friend for the gift. I also had to practice receiving, so
often we are happy giving but not always receiving. In
saying thank you, I can really say thank you for so much
more. I can appreciate the care she has taken to
decorate this rock, the thought she has taken in its
pattern, and the word she wanted to use.
The main thank you is that she has done all this to give
as a gift to me so that is another thank you, thinking of
me and caring enough for me to give me such a gift.
This rock has given me so many benefits and in this
extensive thank you and gratitude I can raise my
vibration. If I am feeling low energy or low vibration, I
know that I can look at this rock. I can move up the
scale of vibration and probably surpass love to that of
joy. Here is a rock-a tangible symbol - reminding me of
“joy“. What joy can bring to me and the world.
18

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
In the creation of this rock, I can only surmise that my
friend thoroughly enjoyed the creativity.
She would have been solely concentrated on her
creation, so was not troubled by the lower vibrations of
fear or judgement and would have been vibrating on
love.
She gave me the rock, so in the giving, her vibration
would be love and even Joy, giving a gift and having it
received.
When I knew I was writing about Joy, I explored the
Angel cards. This one says it all. “Joy is the highest
energy of all. It’s the magical sense that everything is
possible. Joy springs from appreciating the gifts within
each moment. Joy allows you to attract and create
your present and future moments at their highest
possible levels.“
In appreciating my gift of the rock, Joy was the
vibration. At this level as it says, is the magical sense
that everything is possible. We know with the Universe
everything is possible and we just have to ask our
Angels.
I wonder what tangible item you will use to create the
vibration of Joy for yourself. It may be you undertake a
craft, which is totally absorbing and brings you joy, like
my friend. Or you can create your own ‘rock’, perhaps it
is a keepsake from a loved one, or a memento of a
holiday. Ask your Angels and do/create what you love -
you can’t go wrong and you will be Zinging!!!
As I said at the start a very joyful May and June to you.
IT’S ABOUT
TIME
John Sjovik
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Inside a calendar
The other night, I dreamt that I climbed into a calendar.
I pulled apart a couple of weeks and pushed my way in
between them. Calendar days toppled over left and
right. Hours and minutes scrambled for safety. Within
seconds I had entered Time and was now standing
inside it. This was a great opportunity to observe the
inner workings of Time, to watch the movements, to
learn what made it tick...
However... according to the German physicist Werner
Heisenberg and his Uncertainty Principle, the
simultaneous exact knowledge of the position AND
speed of a particle is not possible. Also, speed and time
are intimately connected. This means that complete
knowledge of position will result in complete
uncertainty about time and vice versa.
From a philosophical point of view, one might say that
my exact position inside the calendar excluded any
hope of gaining knowledge of its structure, it being
Time. This is really an extreme reflection of the notion
that any study of anything at all, will unequivocally
have an influence on that which is being studied, which
will then make the study intrinsically impossible. Some
philosophers’ and scientists’ thoughts on time
Aristotle (384 – 322 BCE) believed in absolute time in
its own right. Time flows independently of space and
whoever measures the passing of time will arrive at the
same result.
Immanuel Kant (1724 – 1804) said that we learn about
the world through experience, by using our senses.
However, the concept of time was a clear exception.
Time is not an entity we learn about through empirical
observations. Rather, it is an intuitive foundation for all
phenomena we experience a posteriori.
22

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Emanuel Swedenborg (1688 – 1772) is one of my
favourite scientists and mystics. In his book “Heaven
and Hell” (1758), he mentions that “...angels have no
notion or idea of time and space...” Instead, there are
“changes of state”. As a consequence, for angels
“...eternity means infinite state, not infinite time.”
Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955) is famous with his
combination of space and time. In contrast with
Aristotle, Einstein showed that time is not absolute. The
flow of time depends on how fast you are travelling in
relation to an observer. It also depends on the
characteristics of the gravitational field you are in.
Good advice from Swedenborg’s angels!
I am thinking about some of the fundamental guidelines
in Shamanism and indeed many forms of spiritual work.
If you are given a reading by a medium at a fair for
complementary medicine or you receive feedback from
an astrologer, try to avoid questions related to time.
“When?” and “how long?” will only provide confusing
answers with little meaning.
If you participate in a ceremony involving metaphysical,
esoteric work, remember the advice by Swedenborg’s
angels. It is better to ask about changes of state and
questions relating to situations and feelings instead of
when something will happen.
So what is Time?
This is not an article about science and philosophy, so
let me move on to my own thoughts and to the ideas I
have received from Spirit.
For many years, I have been thinking about the nature
of time and what it really is.
People say that they do not have enough of it, that they
do not know what to do with it, that it has not yet
come, and that they are running out of it.
Regrettably, time is not a commodity.
If it was, you could go to a shop and purchase some
more of it. If you had more of it than you needed, you
could sell some and make a bit of money.
23

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
When you are in an unpleasant situation, time seems to
move slowly. When you are having fun, time moves
quickly.
William Shakespeare wrote: “I wasted time, and now
doth time waste me.” Think about those words. They do
not really refer to time, do they? They refer to actions
or situations. They are about not having done all the
things you feel you should have done. So it is about
regret. And “time wasting me” is about the aging of
your body, with the dulling of your senses and
increased fragility of your limbs.
When people talk about “time”, they really mean
actions, activities, what they do and experience. The
expression “I had a great time” does not mean that you
enjoyed watching minutes and seconds ticking away on
your watch. It means that you did something that you
enjoyed.
We often perceive time as a form of movement. Time
“flows”. Time “moves”. Any movement requires
reference points. Think of a spaceship. What does
space travel mean? What does it mean that a spaceship
has a certain speed or velocity? What is the reference
grid? What if there aren’t any reference points? Can
there be movement? How do you know that you are
moving, if there is nothing external whizzing by? Have
you ever been on a train and there is another train next
to it? One of the trains is moving and the other one
remains still, but for a moment or two, you are unable
to figure out which train is moving and which one is
still. Or you are in an aeroplane, flying above the
clouds. Can you tell its speed or any movement at all?
Movement in space, in thoughts and in feelings; time
/event maps
The spaceship moves from planet to planet, from one
heavenly body to the next. Time moves from one hour
to the next hour, from one moment to the next. Then
what about thought? What about feelings? Do they also
need reference points in order to exist?
Imagine you are in a small boat in the middle of the
Pacific Ocean. Or you are walking in the Sahara desert.
Unless you know how to navigate by the position of the
stars, the sun and the moon, you will be quite lost.
24

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
The same way, I maintain that you can get lost in your
thoughts and feelings if you do not have clear reference
points.
Navigating your thoughts and feelings can be similar to
moving through time or journeying through space, the
ocean or a desert.
One way is to see time as a map. There will be moments
and calendar dates connected to important events in
your life. Those moments or events will be your
reference points. On the map, you will not only see
instances from your own life, but also that of your
ancestors and maybe other people as well. Each time
map is individual.
As a Shamanic practitioner, I would also include future
events on my time or event map. Those events can be
such that are certain to happen, such as my own (or
others) physical death, they can be events connected to
probabilities or even wishes and hopes. If one desired
event is a job I am dreaming of, then I can add it to my
time/event map and then try to create a plan that will
help me navigate towards that dream.
Immanuel Kant claimed that Time is a way to describe
the order between consecutive events. I completely
disagree. His view was a technocratic, mechanical
understanding of the relationship between time and
events. As with my above description of a time/event
map, the order of events can be changed, at least with
respect to their values, energetic vibrations and how
they affect you.
There are geographical maps, there is mind-mapping
and I put it to you that there could be time /event
maps. Go to your closet and pick a white sheet. Spread
it out on the floor and get a marker pen. Then write
events on it, in random spots on the sheet. Write down
events from past time, currently on-going and planned
for the future. But avoid marking them with dates. Just
let them be events. Then connect them whichever way
you want, in an order you feel drawn to. This way of
lining them up might well make more sense to you and
be more useful in your understanding and dealing with
them, than if you would place them in a consecutive
order as per dates and timings.
25

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Living in the now or getting lost in it?
The challenge of “mindfulness” and “living in the now”
(which are concepts I have never really understood
anyway) is the risk of losing yourself in the curse of The
Now. The present moment is but a fraction of time,
flashing by in the ever flow of the yesterday blending
into the tomorrow. Focus too much on The Now and
you risk forgetting where you came from and where you
are moving towards. For me, I see myself in a flow
outside of time and even outside of space.
Keep in mind that there is a difference between the way
we experience the world, the way we describe it and the
way it actually is.
Human beings are probably the only species on the
planet with any relation to or consideration of time. A
popular genre of books is biographies. People love to
watch documentaries on TV about past times. We love
to remember. In a way, that is one definition of time. If
there was no memory, there would be no time, just an
endless eternity of present moments.
Animals live in the present moment, yet without paying
any attention to it. This is an important realization.
Paradoxically, they really do live “In The Now”; however
they are not aware of it. That is how and why it works
for them.
Events versus time
From a spiritual point of view, try to see things from this
perspective: Think in terms of “events”, of “energy”,
maybe of “causality”. That way, a future event might
very well influence an event that took place in the past.
That is why it is possible to perform a Shamanic
ceremony and alter something that happened in the
past; change the energetic vibrations of it, how you
remember it and what impact it had (and still has) on the
future. You can also influence something that will
happen in the future. With that view, it is no longer
necessarily so that events are successive, in the way
that an event is connected with a certain time and that
the future follows after the present, like Wednesday
follows Tuesday. If Wednesday and Tuesday are events,
they do not really have to follow each other in any
particular order. They are free-standing events, each
one in its own right.
26

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Let us imagine that it is 14:30pm. Within the 60 minutes
of the hours between 14:00 and 15:00, 30 minutes are
in the past and the remaining 30 minutes belong to the
future. 30 minutes have already happened and 30
minutes are yet to take place. In the exact moment in
between is the present. However, the present moment
can be divided into one fraction of a moment that is in
the past and one that is in the future. Supposedly, you
live in the present moment. But when is that really? As
we have seen, it is very brief. Before we know it, it will
have disappeared into the mist of past times, whilst
simultaneously being replenished with fresh time
arriving from the future. It seems as if there are a
number of infinitesimally short moments of present time
that keep replacing each other.
The way I see it, time as used and interpreted by people
is an invention to make it easier to plan and control our
lives. A traditional clock, with hands moving around the
circular dial, is simply a device to make it easier for us to
catch a train, meet a friend, or go to work before the
boss notices that we are missing. Life is a chain of
events (as Immanuel Kant would have it) and a clock
provides one way of measuring the distance between
them, just as a map will show you the geographic
location and physical distance between two places or
events.
All the time you need
It has been said that you have the time you need. You
may not always feel that this is the case. “If only I had
more time”, people often say. Yet, that notion is more
often related to anxiety, a sense of inadequacy or
shortcoming, rather than really not having enough time.
I mentioned that time is not a commodity. This means
that one person cannot access more of it than anyone
else. If something is due tomorrow, we all have the same
number of minutes until the hour strikes. Yet, is that
really true, from a spiritual point of view? There is
interplay between time and action. Time can stretch,
flex and be malleable. I truly believe that Spirit has a
hand in this. I claim that the expression “We made it just
in time!” is more often heard than “Damn, we missed it”.
You do have all the time you need. Just remove your
watch and avoid paying any attention to time. Time
does not really exist anyway.
EXTRA-ORDINARY
CHANNELS
Extra-ordinary channels of traditional
Chinese Acupuncture and their
relationship to the 'Taiji Pole’
Apart from the 12 regular meridians that are
commonly used in Acupuncture there are at least
another twelve ‘extra-ordinary channels’ (or meridians)
which form the blueprint for the growth and
development of the physical body. These are known
by various names. In English - the Strange Flows, the
Extraordinary Conduits and the Eight Marvellous
Ones, are just three.
These meridians, which run deep within our bodies,
supply the 12 regular meridians with Qi (energy),
enabling support of our DNA, our ‘genetic heritage’, or
in Chinese terms our ‘ancestry’. In TCM (traditional
Chinese medicine) and kinesiology, we acknowledge
that the Governing and Central meridian channels are
the only extraordinary channels to have their own
acupuncture points, that is they are not shared. It has
been documented that six of the extraordinary
channels share acu-points with other points on the
twelve regular bilateral meridians, depending on
where they flow, however this information has since
been upgraded.
There are other extraordinary channels which have
their own independent acu-points, and corresponding
muscle/meridian relationships. The extraordinary
channels integrate, strengthen, store and regulate the
circulation of Qi in the regular meridians to maintain a
state of balance and harmony. They link all of the Yin
and Yang energy through the fascia of the physical
body to nourish and provide energy to the organs.
32

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
They also enable the change of distribution and the
nature of the energy used in the body, by responding
to the internal and external signals that affect the use
of that energy.
The commonly recognised extraordinary vessels are as
follows: Central, Governing, Vital, Inner Regulator,
Outer Regulator, Inner Mobility, Outer Mobility and
Belt. These relate to the Chinese titles Ren Mai, Du
Mai, Chong Mai, Yin Wei Mai, Yang Wei Mai, Yin Qiao
Mai, Yang Qiao Mai, and Dai Mai.
According to TFH practitioner Marguerite Murray each
vessel has corresponding positive and negative
emotions, gland relationships and essential oils that
enable balance.
Angelica + Patchouli
Rose + Melissa
Rosemary + Citronella
Narcissus + Jasmine + Juniper
Mugwort + Niaouli + Sandalwood
Many kinesiology modalities do not recognise the
extraordinary channels, it seems because very little
information has been published on them in Chinese
texts. What has been published appears contradictory.
Dr George Goodheart, the founder of Applied
Kinesiology, tapped into this information when
explaining the connection between muscle function
and energy flow, however most of the research on the
extraordinary channels seems to have been conducted
in Japan, particularly by Yoshio Manaka, Kazuko Itaya
and Stephen Birch, who published this research in their
book - ‘Chasing the Dragon’s Tail’ in 1991.
Recent scientific research, by Issei Kasai, Yuki
Kitazumi, Kenji Kano and Osamu Shirai in 2020 has at
least partly proven the proposed theory in this book,
the existence of ‘electrical cellular information systems’
to be correct.
This is where the ancient concept of the Taiji Pole
integrates nicely with up-to-date knowledge.
33

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
What is the Taiji Pole?
The ‘Taiji (tai chi) pole’ is a cosmological term for the
‘Supreme Ultimate’ and relates to the state of the
internal and external worlds and the interaction of
matter and space in relation to the body and mind.
The balance of the Taiji Pole gives rise to all the other
energy channels, or meridians in the body.
The Taiji Pole runs through our vertical centre, from
the top of the head to the coccyx, or in acupunture
terms the Bai Hui - ‘One Hundred Meetings’ to the ‘Hui
Yin’-‘The Convergence of Yin’. Metaphorically, it's like
connecting the heavens above to the floor of the
ocean.
Bai Hui is the human connection to ‘heaven’, literally
‘where we are from’. In TCM this point is used to calm
the spirit and treat emotions, memory and behaviour. It
becomes unregulated due to the emotions of fear,
anxiety, anger and bitterness.
Correspondingly the Hui Yin clears ‘damp heat’, treats
Kidney Qi (fear and anxiety) and calms the mind.
Treating this point literally enables us to ‘let off steam’
and release the pressure that life burdens us with!
Internally the Taiji Pole connects the Upper, Middle
and Lower Dantians - loosely translated as ‘elixir fields’,
the energy centres that in Taoist and Buddhist
traditions relate to higher states of consciousness, and
the connection to Universal knowledge.
So - in essence, you can probably guess that if we are
‘busy of mind’ (e.g. - worried) then we lose connection
from spirit AND grounding to the Earth. In effect, we
lose US!
This suggests that calming the mind reconnects US to
US - or in effect ‘heaven to earth’. Meditative practices
are an obvious choice in enabling this to happen, as is
receiving healing from another.
The ‘martial art’ of Tai Chi is another meditative
process that re-connects US to US.
34

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
As such, Tai Chi considers itself an ‘internal' martial art focused on developing Qi. As its name suggests, it rebalances
and re-energises the Taiji pole, using slow routine sequences of movement.
Tai chi is literally ‘meditation through movement’, enabling a re-connection to our natural self. By relaxing,
attending inward, and slowing mind, body, and breath, this practice allows the practitioner to become less
tense, drop conditioned habits, let go of thoughts and allow Qi to flow smoothly.
This allows flow with the Tao, the path of connection with the natural order of the universe.
Tai Chi can be accurately described as a ‘moving meditation’, that allows us to let go and experience ‘Wúxīn’
(literally the state of ‘un-intention’) to allow and enable spontaneity, and release us from tension.
As Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, LAc/Dipl states: “the journey along this path recapitulates the origin of life as
we understand it, from the formless, timeless state that precedes incarnation, to the emerging duality of yin
and yang, and the further division of the human embryo via the process of cell division, or mitosis, that
ultimately results in birth. In the same manner that life is spontaneously generated from the semblance of
death, so life ultimately returns to the void, mirroring the great cycle of existence”
SOUL RAYS AND CHAKRA AWAKENING
The goal of this workshop is to enable the integration of body and soul to its
purpose by enabling the Seven Rays to align and correlate with each other -
that is, they need to harmonise with each other for the chakras to function
as they are intended.
JIN SHIN
JYUTSU
Cheli Mula
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
My Story, my real first encounter with Jin Shin Jyutsu is so embedded in me, that I will never forget this state of
awareness, this feeling that you know - this IS. And still, this memory is so present, it is like it happened yesterday.
It’s a bit like when you first meet your deep love, the spark that touches your soul. Your soul mate, when this moment
changes the whole direction of your life.
It is scientifically proven, by the way - that it takes exactly 3 seconds to fall into true Love.
I guess my connection with Jin Shin Jyutsu is true love!
It started back in 2006 when I did my first 5-day practitioner course in Jin Shin Jyutsu. I have been a massage therapist
for more than 20 years, trained in Ayurveda, Reflexology, Reiki and I have always felt a deep passion for spirituality and
science, health and wellbeing from the early 80's.
I initially heard about the healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu over 20 years before from my best friends. I tried it out, I
practised the recommended applications - but never thought much of it, I didn’t really feel or see any results.
38

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
I guess now looking back, it could have been because my attitude was so present and strong, that I wasn’t
allowing the subtle energies to come through.
But as curious as I am, and having studied other healing modalities, I decided to take a 5-day practitioner
course, thinking, that I probably need the study class workshop to get it.
Little did I know…
My first Teacher was Carlos Gutterres from Brazil, an over 25 years experienced world teacher of the Jin
Shin Jyutsu faculty.
Today he is running The International Jin Shin Guild organisation with another very experienced teacher
Wayne Hackett. Mostly online, but more and more in person in Europe and all over the world.
I started the course, and after the first hour, it was clear to me, that I just won’t get it with my rational
thinking mind.
I couldn’t ask for my money back, I didn’t want to leave, so I decided to take just notes, even though I
didn’t understand.
My first practitioner’s class I always say... I was writing notes of what I heard but I really didn’t understand.
BUT, I knew it worked! The first hands on session I had, tears were running down my face without reason.
And it continued over the whole week’s course. I became so humble, soft, vulnerable and I know I cried all
the tears out that I had been holding onto for decades. That is Jin Shin Jyutsu.
It harmonises what needs to be harmonised. So it can make you sad, as well as happy and laughing (I have
seen people laughing for no reason during a session). It can make you relaxed as well as energised.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is The Art from the Source which speaks the truth, the Creator for the compassionate
humble mankind /person.
I never looked back. I became a fully qualified Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and Self-help class teacher.
Self-help means applying the art to yourself.
That’s what I teach.
There are 3 Self-help books by Mary Burmeister, which I enjoy teaching, as they are the Source. They are
the original, the beginning! I feel no other book can ever be written like this – as any other source must
have taken the information from Mary.
I offer the Jin Shin Jyutsu hands-on treatments from my treatment room at the Health in the City, London.
39

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Wherever you are, you can apply the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu healing.
Jin Shin Jyutsu works on the same principles of traditional chinese medicine, but only with 26 Energylocks,
These are Energy flows which connect certain Energylocks with each other. In Chinese medicine you would call
them meridians, in Ayurveda Nadis.
These are the subtle energy pathways throughout the body, which harmonise the body’s energies when they are
not blocked. We apply the hands with a light touch (there are practitioners who have a stronger touch) on the
designated parts and make a connection, so that the body becomes aware of where we want to guide. Most
important is the presence and the awareness from both parties, practitioner and receiver.
The signal of pulsation guides the practitioner to move on, and so we complete an energyflow.
The body is encouraged to harmonize itself, regeneration or generation of what is needed can happen, and these
are the different possible outcomes of a Jin Shin Jyutsu session.
You can take sessions once a week, or as a series of treatments, to address more, deeper issues. We call these
projects.
Master sensei Jiro Murai in Japan rediscovered this wisdom after having applied it during a terminal illness. Some
mudras he knew of, and healed issues out of fasting and meditation.
That’s when he vowed to devote his life to this art. He studied it and with the knowledge and wisdom gained
called it Jin Shin Jyutsu.
One of his master students was a Japanese descended woman from America, Mary Burmeister whom he met in
Japan. After 17 years of studying with Master Murai, Mary wrote her first self-help book, followed by 2 others.
Later adding practitioner books Text 1 and Text 2.
Especially for our readers: a free migun thermal massage
40

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Mary and her students shared the knowledge of Jin
shin Jyutsu all over the world. That’s where we are
now!
Haruki Kato, was a male student from Tokio, who
studied aside Jin Shin Jyutsu as well as Acupuncture.
His lineage stayed in Japan, and his son Sadaki Kato
continues to teach this art all over the world.
You can have Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions at the Health in
the City in London.
A 1-hour session costs £70, it's fully clothed and a
recommended self-help application will be given for
you to continue at home. You could join one of our
THE NORSE SAGAS
AND RUNE POWER
Shaeen Svanede
The understanding of the Norse sagas and the power of the
runes
As a practicing medium, I have now been using runes for
divination for two decades although it wasn't the obvious
choice when I started looking at tarot cards as a tool for
divination when I was a teenager.
Like the alchemist in the books of Paulo Coelho, I had to leave
my familiar territory to find my way back to my origin. Already
as a child, I took a particular interest in the culture of the
North American Indians and later on I also turned to South
American Shamanism.
It was when I spent some years in Spain in the late nineties
that I began to question why I wasn't looking more into my
native culture. A good friend of mine asked ”Could you tell
me about the runes, since you are Swedish?” and I vaguely
remembered some details from secondary school. There was
something about Odin and Thor and the Viking inscriptions I
had seen on large boulders but couldn´t decipher. These
things had escaped my mind but now my interest in native
religions was sparked with fresh curiosity.
As time went by I read everything I could find about these
amazing tools and legends from the northern hemisphere and
I realized that there is so much more to it than just rock
carvings, runic inscriptions and myths. In fact, I have now
come to the conclusion that the ancient stories from all
around the world are actually symbolic maps that can explain
everything that is happening, has happened and is yet to
come.
It is also a chart of the microcosmos and macrocosmos and
about the fight between good and evil both within and
without. Just as the Bible is based on past traditions and
describes God creating man in his own image, man is a
mixture of all the creatures that populate the nine worlds of
Yggdrasil (the sacred world tree in Norse mythology).
42

There is no separation between mankind and other living
beings as we all carry the power of the deities and other
beings - aesirs, vanirs, giants and trolls. The branches of the
world tree represent the different paths that can be chosen,
just as life is not just a predetermined destiny which cannot
be altered by any means. It is one and the same tree, yet
there are many choices as each twig and leaf can make the
whole difference between one outcome and another.
Why the old myths are not just fairytales
Over the centuries, alchemists, witches, astrologers and
shamans have in one way or another recorded their stories to
pass on the knowledge to those who understand how to
interpret their tales correctly. It was the safest way to keep
those secrets hidden from empires and dictatorships that
wanted to rule the world.
The secret tales were kept away from the common man by
the powers of modern religions and were substituted by
science. It could have been fatal, at the time, to work against
the politics of the ruling classes.
Still, it was important to maintain the traditions practised by
the elders, so they found a way to preserve this knowledge.
The network available back in the day was that news would
travel the world by minstrels and storytellers and they did this
with elaborate poetry and singing.
Compare those poets and singers to artists and actors of
today and you will understand the significance of presenting a
good story. And just like many movies of today can have
underlying messages and double meanings, so did those
ancient stories.
Don´t forget that the ancient people were just as intelligent
as we are today; they actually had bigger brains.
Runes versus tarot cards
As previously mentioned, runes are just as powerful in
fortune-telling as tarot cards. There are two different sets of
runes used in Scandinavia. The most commonly used for
divination is the older Nordic futhark, also known as the
Germanic futhark, which consists of twenty-four runes.
43

It may seem strange that these few runes can replace
seventy-eight tarot cards. However, I have put them to the
test by letting my clients pick fourteen tarot or oracle cards
before the proper reading. We then put the cards aside as I
start reading the runes but as soon as I have finished we will
look at the cards chosen beforehand and they will always tell
the same story.
Each rune has a few different interpretations and when
shown upright it usually reveals the constructive or positive
meaning while it tells the negative or destructive story when
it shows up upside down. You need to know the different
ways of interpreting each rune but it is always the intuition
that will tell you the full story. They are tools that help you
focus on the task although very magical ones. They can also
be used for rituals and as amulets for certain purposes.
Additional use
I consider my runes as friends and advisors and they have
shown me how they want to be read by me. In my practice, I
also meditate before I start working with clients and I always
turn to Yggdrasil, the world tree, as I ask Odin or Freya to
show me the things that would be meaningful and
understandable for my client.
Sometimes they show me a different way of how to use the
runes and I have found this even more useful than the
information I have had from any of the books that I have
studied.
Nowadays I also use them in shamanic journeying and to
interpret the characteristics of a name. You might wonder
how a name can reveal how a person is but it is actually very
simple. Just think about presenting yourself as ”Hello, I am
clever!” as opposed to saying ”Hello, I am Stupid!” and you will
understand that you do indeed carry the energy of what you
are calling yourself.
We can also refer to the Water Experiment by Masaru Emoto
who exposed water to words like Love or Hate and then
discovered how the water crystals were damaged by the
negative words but turned out beautifully when subjected to
positively charged words.
44

And just as water according to us has no apparent knowledge
of what is a positive or a negative word, we might
unknowingly be affected by our names as well. The reason I
interpret the name is to show a person the underlying abilities
and disadvantages in their name so that they become aware
of their inner potential and can grow as a person.
Conclusion
There is always so much to learn from the past to create a
better future and there is so much knowledge to be found in
the ancient mysteries.
I would suggest that you try to see things from a completely
different perspective as you dive into the ancient books once
again to unfold the mysteries told by the old troubadours
about the knowledge from ancient sorcerers and magicians.
Rest assured that you will have an interesting and mindbending
time ahead of you.
A wanderer I am right now
My feet are kissing the ground
The urge to walk was strong somehow
My soul feels free, not bound
In pain indeed I kiss the ground
My feet are sore and humble
With natures greatness all around
In My own pace I cease to stumble
Through agony and loneliness
My eyesight's getting wider
When all I see is emptiness
It starts to feel much lighter
The call within that cried so loud
"Let me catch up on Thee"
And here I am, I stand so proud
WHY NOTHING I WRITE
IS GOOD ENOUGH
Hannah Gauss
Why nothing I write is ever going to be good enough, or how
to decide to heal...
Let me explain.
Nothing I write will ever be good enough to stop you from
repeating unhealthy behaviours, identities and traumas that
you are not ready to face. Healing doesn’t work like that.
The only way to effectively heal consists of two connected
processes.
It begins with a decision. You have to be done with all the
ways you are emotionally benefitting from your (unconscious)
patterns.
This means that the pain of keeping you disconnected from
your authentic self and others must be greater than the fear
of feeling pain again.
You see, trauma teaches you how to think and behave to
make you feel safe (and loved). This could be not sharing your
recent artwork to avoid public criticism and to feel like a
failure. It is also pleasing your partner by putting their needs
above your own.
There are all these ways which you avoid to feel this pain
again. They helped you survive our trauma. Now they are
disconnecting you from your authentic self and others by
avoiding vulnerability.
You have to FEEL the ways in which you were abandoned,
betrayed and rejected – especially the ways you are doing
that to yourself! Recognising how you met your unmet needs,
helps you decide to change them.
46

This does NOT mean that you were responsible for what
happened to you. You didn’t ask for it and it doesn’t mean
something is wrong with you. It means terrible people did
terrible things to you. End off. The only responsibility you
have is fully committing to your healing once you decide that
you hurt enough.
The second choice might be the most important one. The only
way for you to effectively heal, is to decide that you are done
hurting so badly that you are willing to endure the sometimes
greater pain of healing. Spoiler alert: feeling better is on the
other side of feeling crappy.
Energy healing removes the blockages and trauma created. It
does not rewire the survival patterns you got from it.
To do that, you have to teach your brain how to process an
experience differently by implementing what you learned
during healing. This means experiencing a triggering situation
but choosing to not betray yourself. For instance, you will
have the same arguments with your partner over and over
again, until you meet your own needs instead of outsourcing
them to your partner. You will go back and forth between
successfully implementing this new way of thinking and falling
back into old patterns just as many times. Integration is messy
but necessary, because (neurologically speaking) this is how
new neuropaths are formed.
The biggest downfall in the current healing industry is
attempting to skip integration to reach enlightenment. It is so
easy to do one more healing instead of marinating in feelings
or dealing with unmet childhood needs in relationships.
And avoiding it will work. At least for a while. But you will
never get away with it. Skipping implementation means facing
the same issue on a deeper level later on.
There is no level of spirituality exempting you from
experiencing pain and having to heal it. There is only
judgement from yourself and others of how healed a spiritual
person should be to classify as high vibe or enlightened.
Shame dies where vulnerability is practised.
If you do not rewire the patterns you adopt in survival, they
will keep running the show.
47

Let’s apply it.
Here is a nugget of gold I recently learned. We will adapt it to
this scenario:
What are you not allowing yourself to share about yourself
with others?
This is your pain point, your liberator and your gateway to
feeling better.
Once you actively engage with it and commit to your healing,
your life will change. You will feel better. That's the essence
of the spiritual path - transmuting pain into power - wherever
we are on it.
Trust me, it is always worth committing to healing, and again
there is no such thing as a spiritual level that exempts you
from it.
So, if it’s been a while, this is your invitation to feel your
feelings, to get in the ring of a messy back and forth.
If no one else roots for you during this process, I do.
I am there with you too!
DREAMING
Erica Lowe
It is only when we connect with our dreams that what we
manifest will be aligned with our highest intentions. Sacred
dreaming brings us into contact with our soul purpose and helps
us keep whatever we’re manifesting into the world connected to
the highest good of all and open to the universal flow of
abundance.
Every day when I was living in the community at Embercombe,
the role of Dreamer would be assigned to someone. A role just
as important and vital to the community as work done in the
kitchen, the joinery, and the fields.
It’s through our dreaming that we keep aligned to our purpose,
values and soul when we’re building or making things manifest in
the world.
Without the compass of our visions, we can get lost or build
something with a distorted foundation which will topple easily or
take us off course.
It’s through our dreaming that we can access support and energy
from the different layers of the world we inhabit.
Imagination – Image – I Mage: using the power of visualisation
and active imagination we become the magicians of our destiny. I
Magic into being all the most wonderful things I know can exist
in my life.
And inner sabotage is real.
Our inbuilt survival systems activate when we do or dream
something which we’ve been told is dangerous either by our
families or by our society. Our inner firefighters and managers do
everything they possibly can to keep us safe. The thing is they
usually received their instruction manual when we were infants,
toddlers, youth, teenagers….
When our survival was dependent on the connection with our
caregivers. So we learnt how to survive.
50

And now, when we want to do more than just survive, but to live
and be the change we wish to see in the world…. our protectors
often have something to say about it and we find ourselves in a
place of freeze, of flight, of fight.
When in reality, the danger doesn’t actually exist. Or if it does,
then there are new and exciting ways of meeting that danger
which can bring us greater happiness and well-being, joy and
satisfaction.
We can clear past traumas, family stories, cultural expectations.
We can connect to our guides and those in the spirit world who
hold our dreams sacred and wish to see us bring them into being.
We can crystalise our dreams into clear images and visions that
we can hold onto as we work through our protective patterning.
We can manifest what we know is possible.
So yes, we can and should dream.
Yes we can and should build what we want in this world.
Yes, we can and should be who we know ourselves to truly be.
Yes, our dreams are and should be the solid guiding force for
change and well-being in our lives and the world.
And yes, they can and should lead us to the heart of our
wounding so that we can release ourselves from pre
programmed fear responses and start to live in a place of trust,
gratitude and deepening love.
They are the starting point and the finishing line.
Our Visions. Our Magic Sight. Our Dreams.
Hidden in the Mist
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Susan always knew she could sense
things that she couldn't see, so when her
husband James starts to act strangely is
there more to his behaviour than meets
the eye?
With her daughter also starting to act
strangely, Susan's nerves are on a knife
edge, having lost all of her self-esteem
at her husband's hands, not knowing
where to turn and with echoes of the
past still clinging persistently to her
home.
Susan instinctively knows that
everyone's survival depends upon her.
Will Susan be able to save her family
from the malevolence which threatens
to engulf them all?
Hidden in the Mist is a supernatural
book that is loosely based on some reallife
experiences that Sue personally had
in her childhood.
“I read Hidden in the Mist in less than a
week as I got gripped by the characters
and the storyline - really needed to know
how it was all going to turn out! I enjoy a
good ghost story and this was a really
good ghost story.”
Pulling out all stops in her debut work of fiction, Sue Penney’s Hidden in the Mist is a
ghostly tale par excellence.
Aware of her own personal supernatural abilities since the age of three, the author
draws on real-life events she experienced as a child to give Hidden in the Mist an
authenticity and scare factor that plays with your mind from the outset. Adding further
to its spooky credentials, the front cover is illustrated with an image of the actual house
in which the author first experienced the paranormal.
Worthy of a solid ten out of ten for its accomplished plot, pace and the fear it evokes,
Hidden in the Mist is most definitely one to read with the lights on full."
Life behind
the mask
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
A compelling story of a young mother, happy in her
first marital home, running her successful dance school.
Everything changed one fateful night; following a
severe car accident, her husband developed paranoid
schizophrenia. A year of desperation, misery attempted
murder, a shooting and a suicide followed.
A second husband with rage issues, led to physical
abuse of her son and a life of fear. Follow her fight to
protect her children and explore the horrors they faced
growing up. Years remaining silent for fear of reprisal
and the guilt carried from seeing the effect it had on
her children.
Another near fatal car accident and the unexplained
miracle rescue. An illness that drained her body, stole
her career and left her bedridden. This is one woman’s
battle against insurmountable odds. The will to survive,
protect, overcome years of torment, fear and
oppression and the day she discovered the strength
within, to fight back and step out from ‘BEHIND THE
MASK’
I spent most of my working life as a professional dance instructor, designing and
producing theatrical shows for children. When a severe back injury resulting
from a car crash forced me into early retirement, I started looking for new ways
to be creative and find a new outlet in life to express myself. Writing filled this
void and allowed me to clarify, accept and eventually script what has happened
to me over the years, which makes for a compelling and at times, difficult read.
For a very long time I tried to come to terms with what I have been through and
how it has affected both me and my family. Having finished this book, I am now
able to look back and reflect on my life in a way I never thought possible. The
sheer number and variety of traumas I have experienced is almost
incomprehensible and the horrors of some of the situations are a lot to take onboard.
These have shaped me into the woman I am today.
Within the book you will experience my life in its rawest form including a suicide,
a ruined career, a lengthy lawsuit, a terrible marriage, an abusive husband,
terrified children, a debilitating illness, broken families, dreams shattered, hope,
fear, and impossible choices. Only when you are at your lowest, when you feel
that life has taken too much from you, do you look deep inside yourself and
make a choice. This story is my choice.
NARCISSISTS
Jovi Hoonjan
Hmmm, the wild world of narcissists—where ego meets drama, and
relationships become a rollercoaster ride! When dealing with these
attention-seeking maestros, keep your humour radar on and your
scissors handy (for cutting those toxic threads).
Let’s unravel the mystery of narcissists. Imagine them as the James
Bond villains of relationships—captivating, potentially harmful, and
always plotting their next move.
On a very basic level, a narcissist is an individual who displays an
exaggerated sense of self-importance, a constant need for
admiration, and a lack of empathy towards others. They frequently
exhibit a strong-willed nature and engage in manipulation tactics,
exploiting relationships.
Their charm and charisma may initially draw people in, creating an
illusion of connection. However, beneath the surface lies a selfcentered
(damaged) individual who seeks validation and control.
If you’re an Empath, buckle up! You’re like a human emotional
buffet for them. Over time, interactions with narcissists will leave
you feeling emotionally drained, manipulated, and questioning your
own worth. Read my article in the March/April 2024 magazine, to
truly understand the empath’s power!
So, how do you survive this emotional rollercoaster? Establish and
maintain clear boundaries. Recognize when your emotional energy
is being depleted, and consciously take steps to distance yourself
when needed.
Self-care? Oh, it’s not just bubble baths and scented candles. It’s
like emotional CrossFit: meditation reps, mindfulness squats, and
gratitude lunges.
Be aware, keep centred and know your worth!
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 26
Narcissists often employ gaslighting, projecting blame, and
emotional manipulation. Let me add a short note here, it’s not just
narcissists who gaslight but they are extremely skilled at it!
By understanding narcissistic tactics, you can better navigate their
web of deceit and maintain your emotional balance.
Seek support from trusted friends or professionals who can offer a
fresh perspective and reinforce your sense of self.
Learning to assertively communicate your needs and desires is
crucial when dealing with narcissists.
As well as establishing healthy boundaries, expressing your feelings
can help safeguard your emotional well-being.
Remember that prioritizing self-care and setting limits is not selfish
but necessary for maintaining a healthy and balanced life.
In conclusion, identifying a narcissist, understanding their impact,
and actively protecting your energy and emotional well-being are
vital steps towards creating healthier relationships.
You will empower yourself to navigate the challenges posed by
narcissistic individuals while fostering a more positive and fulfilling
life.
Deep down, narcissists dislike themselves. The reason why they
use their intense narcissistic behaviour is to conceal what they
loathe within themselves - a very complex multi-level of
insecurities.
So, how can shamanism help to protect you...?
A good way of creating healthy boundaries is to ask a spirit animal
to support you.
I’ve listed some top spiritual animals that you can invoke when you
are up against a narcissist. Next to each animal, I’ve listed their
‘powers’.
Choose one or more of the animals, then simply (in your mind) ask
for their support.
Do this every day and throughout the day when you feel you are
being manipulated by anyone.
Alligator – survival, patience, stealth, territorial
Aardvark – digging for truth, resourceful, independence,
curiousity
Bear – strength, groundedness, independence, leadership,
confidence
Badger – determination, inner strength, protection, courage
Boar – fearlessness, power, endurance, sensuality
Bull – endurance, abundance, leadership, adaptability,
protection
Fox – cunning, camouflage, quick-thinking, stealth, intuition
Hawk – precision, timing, courage, renewal, transformation
Horse – freedom, speed, communication, intuition
Lion – courage, dignity, self-worth, regal, authority
Racoon – masking emotions, survival, cleverness,
resourcefulness
Rhinoceros – determination, protection, confidence,
groundedness, instintiveness
Skunk – boundaries, respect, conflict resolution (nonconfrontational)
Tortoise – endurance, introspection, protection, wisdom
Have fun with this practice, add different power animals as you
progress - see if you notice a difference.
Love, light, protection and healing to you!
