Boisdale
Fruit cake and vanilla crème anglaise with a waft of smoke on the nose and a fruity
finish.
669 Cragganmore 12yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
Intensely, nearly overwhelmingly, perfumed, especially with a splash of water. Very
herbal and aromatic, the palate is dry and reminiscent of a very dry white wine.
Exquisitely balanced, it is great as an aperitif, but complex enough to be enjoyed long
after dinner.
672 Dailuaine 16yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
Sherry and a hint of smoke on the nose – a lot of complexity and development. A
sherry sweet palate with woodiness and a touch of malt. Oaky finish with caramel
sweetness.
Speyside, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail
Now a Historic Building, the distillery closed in 1992. The 1980 has a fruity nose with
a hint of apple – it is medium bodied with a slightly sweet palate. After dinner.
A brand new expression in the Dalmore stable, this new 15-year-old is elegant and
smooth, with lip smacking texture and the flawless balance one would expect from
blending maestro Richard Paterson.
604 Dalmore King Alexander
Northern Highlands, distillery bottling
To make this Dalmore King Alexander III, Master Distiller Richard Paterson has
selected a range of differently-aged malts matured in a mixture of French wine casks,
Madeira drums, Sherry butts, Marsala barrels, Port pipes and Bourbon barrels from
Kentucky. A remarkable feat of blending.
679 Dalwhinnie 15yrs
Northern Highlands, distillery bottling
Strikingly clean flavours with salt and malt in the nose. A clear Highland malt
character with subtle peatiness. Aromatic and delicately spicy with grass and graintype
vegetative associations. Refreshing as an aperitif (or after a walk in the hills)?
681 Dufftown 15yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
Dufftown is light and low-key. It has some flowery elegance and a little bit of biscuity
smoke; dry core, sweet edge, quiet but smooth finish.
682 Edradour 10yrs
