733 Laphroaig 10yrs
Islay, distillery bottling
Boisdale
Phenolic, seaweedy nose with a hint of esters and melon sweetness. Continuous gentle
waves of dry peat lap upon the tastebuds but are balanced by a sweet malt middle and
the most hesitant of vanillas. With its salty, oily palate it is the most medicinal of the
Islay malts.
734 Laphroaig 15yrs
Islay, distillery bottling
A phenolic, tarry, sulphurous nose carries through to the taste where a deceptive
moment of peppermint sweetness and grassiness, then an explosion of sulphur,
burning peat and Islay intensity. Fruitier than the 10yrs it is lively, full of flavours
and multi-faceted.
697 Laphroaig 30yrs
Islay, distillery bottling
Aromas of raisins, oranges and violets mix on an opulent, complex palate with a hint of
smoky peat on the finish.
737 Linkwood 12yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
Light, sweet and gently smoky, but also carries a lovely quiet complexity. There is
considerable fruit presence with a spicy-apple tang. A whisky that is particularly
cherished by cognoscenti.
743 Longmorn 15yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
A rich, slightly peppery, nose with soft oak and cooked apples. Quite full-bodied,
round, soft and smooth medium-sweet with a delicate edge of smokiness and gentle
tannins and a smooth and elegant finish with just a touch of smokiness.
