Boisdale
666 Aberfeldy 12yrs
Southern Highlands, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail
On the nose we find orange zest, incense and a touch of sherry. The palate is oily, with
clean fruitiness and very lively, fresh flavours. The finish is like biting into a kumquat;
then a long, fruity glow.
632 Aberlour “a’bunadh”
Speyside, distillery bottling
A wide spectrum of saturated shades of sherry and a very fruity nose. A big, sweet
and woody cask strength malt with lots of oak in the finish. Softer and sweeter when
diluted.
633 Aberlour 10yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
Nutty, with nutmeg and a hint of cinnamon. Although peated it is very brandy-like
and warming. Not overly challenging but quite satisfying, particularly with dessert.
634 Aberlour 15yrs Sherry Cask
Speyside, distillery bottling
Complex and sophisticated – a perfect balance of sherry and the malty, spicy, house
character. The two elements are tightly combined, with the spicy flavours emerging
slowly: nutmeg, aniseed and emphatic orange-flower. Long, soothing, with a minty and
spicy finish.
635 Ardbeg 10yrs
Islay, distillery bottling
The nose is amazingly smoky with a whiff of tar-covered rope. The palate is robust
with more peat smoke and the flavours of turf and Lapsang Souchong. A long finish
with a fragrant peaty reek. Whilst flavour-packed this is still a delicate scotch.
651 Ardbeg Uigedail
Islay, distillery bottling
Pronounced 'Oog-a-dal'
A fine drop of Ardbeg bottled at cask strength.
A marriage of Ardbeg from bourbon barrel and sherry butt which gives a sweet and
smokey finish to this malt.Uigeadail is the loch from which all Ardbeg water flows.
This 'huge' dram is, in the best traditions of Arbeg, intense.
622 Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist bottled 1990
Islay, distillery bottling
There is a dark place on Islay, high above the Ardbeg Distillery, called Airigh Nam
Beist (pronounced'arry-nam-bayst') which in Gaelic means 'shelter of the beast'.. It is
made up entirely of stock from 1990 distillate. Due to its greater age, it has a softer,
more rounded flavour than the Ardbeg 10 year old . It shows a creamy, smoky flavour
with hints of fennel and pine nuts. Aged in ex-bourbon oak barrels.
660 Ardbeg ‘Lord of the Isles’
Islay, distillery bottling
A deep smoky yet balanced aroma with powerful peat and a sweet mouth feel. The
palate is silky with the a of fruitiness, usually reminiscent of lemons, with a
momentary suggestion of cherries. The flavours become almondy and walnut-like, then
rooty and peppery. A long dry finish with chocolate malt and crushed peat.
