This strong, dark red whisky is a great all-rounder-just fantastic
from nose to finish. It is more than 55% Vol. And the strength is
apparent on the trademark Glenfarclas nose, which is heavily
sherried and rich with fruit-lots of fresh ripe plums and nectarines.
Although a dry, heavy, solid whisky, there is also lovely sweetness
from start to finish. Toffee, then a little light tannin and a bitter
sweetness to finish. It doesn’t disappoint

A light bronze-honey colouring.
Nose marked by chocolate flavours, smoke and clove spices. Almost like
mulled wine which develops into floral attributes. In initial caramel makes
way for toffee apples, then onto apples and pears.
Finish more spices, liquorice and bitter chocolate at the back of your throat

A light whisky on the eye. However, a honey sweetness you would associate
with a much darker dram. Although not as heavily sherried as other
Glenfarclas expressions, the nose on this whisky is divine. Very sweet and
well balanced.
A buttery smooth whisky with spicy undertones. A short intense finish,
which fills your entire mouth.
831 Glenfarclas Family Cask 1980 681 50.1% £52.00
A light golden sheen. The nose is fruity with some strong citrus scents
emanating from the centre of the glass. After a while, a slight leathery
aroma emerges.
It is a very smooth whisky. The texture is almost like a good butter
shortbread-and it really does dissolve in your mouth.
It has an ample finish, which produces a delightful coating of your tongue
and throat.
832 Glenfarclas Family Cask 1985 329 46.3% £41.00
A lovely dark golden colour
At just 46.3% Vol, this has lost more strength for its age than other casks in
the family collection. However, what it lacks in strength, it makes up for in
aromas. Intense. It’s a very elegant whisky with a very good balance of
nuttiness, fresh fruit and some liquorice. It’s actually very similar to
Glenfarclas 21 years old, but this bottling has more depth, which gives it a
much longer and very warm, fulfilling finish
