786 Highland Park 18yrs
Boisdale
Natural colour, clear and bright. Rich and mature oak nose. The taste is rich, with
honey and peat and the finish soft, round and long.
787 Highland Park 25yrs
Orkney, distillery bottling
Pale amber colour with a full nose of chocolate, fudge and notes of honey. In the palate
it is slightly chewy, firm with nutty toffee and oloroso sherry. It has a smooth, soothing
finish with notes of spiciness, lemon and heather-honey. Smokier with water.
661 Highland Park 30yrs
Orkney, distillery bottling
A gorgeous autumnal nose. Burnt orange, orange oil, a liqueur-like sherry character,
wood smoke, burning autumn leaves. Chocolate. With water the more ripe plums and
apple come up and the fruitiness comes to the fore. With more time in the glass, coffee
flavoured chocolates. On the palate we find milk chocolate, sherry in abundance. The
finish is wispy wood smoke.
728 Inchgower 14yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
This malt is for the discerning drinker – a complex nose precedes a fruity, spicy palate
with a hint of salt.
729 Isle of Jura 10yrs
Jura, distillery bottling
An oily, lightly piny, earthily dry nose. The palate is sweetish with a soft, malty,
oiliness and slight island salt. Very quaffable, it makes a great aperitif.
710 Isle of Jura 1974
Jura, distillery bottling
A new addition to the 'Rare & Prestigious' series from Whyte & Mackay, this extraspecial
Isle of Jura has been finished in casks that previously held Gonzalez-Byass's
stunning 'Matusalem' Oloroso sherry. An initial explosion of cinnamon, chocolate
orange and Java coffee and added to this the seductive taste of fresh mangoes and
Parma violets lie in the background.
Rare flavours of Madeira cake, honeyed liquorice and crushed almonds with just a
whisper of sumptuous thick treacle toffee.
730 Knockando ’92
Speyside, bottled by Justerini & Brooks
An aromatic, fragrant, flowery, dry nose. Light to medium bodied with a complex
palate of flowers, nuts and a hint of mint near the end. A long lingering finish with
some sweetness and smoky, coffee notes.
731 Lagavulin 16yrs
Islay, distillery bottling
Some cognac and cooking chocolate and an interesting scent of clover flowers. The
taste starts sweet and finishes darkly smoky.
