Boisdale
In 2006 Glenfarclas was named distiller of the year by Whisky Magazine.
We were nominated for the award for being ‘consistently good and staying true to our core values’ For
six generations my family (and everyone at Glenfarclas) has taken personal pride on the quality of the
whisky we produce, so it was a great pleasure that these values should be recognised by the industry
It was this pride and sense of history which lead us to create a collection of limited edition
Glenfarclas expressions – The Family Casks
824 Glenfarclas Family Cask 1952 96 47.3% £355.00
There is lots of nuttiness and marzipan on the nose, with vanilla trying to
fight its way forward. The taste is light, bitter, sweet, sour, smoky ..... every
possible combination of flavours. Even some citrus and orange cordial
At 57 years old, this is the oldest bottling of Glenfarclas to date.
825 Glenfarclas Family Cask 1957 94 46.2% £220.00
A very rich, dark whisky, which reflects almost no light through the bottle.
Strong, rich tannins are immediately present on the nose. However, you will
also experience lots of sherry, rich stewed coffee, a fresh bag of liquorice… so
many different aromas as this delightful whisky is released into the air.
After about 20 mins you night even sense macadamia nuts. This is a very
big, heavy whisky-rich in alcohol-soaked fruit. Almost bitter to begin with,
then a delicate sweetness present. A strong double-espresso immediately
comes to mind.
It has a bitter, dark chocolate aftertaste, present for a very long time. In
short, a fantastic whisky. A great treat
826 Glenfarclas Family Cask 1963 420 56.7% £98.00
A lovely rich, dark whisky-colour more often associated with a dark cognac.
A big heavy-sherried whisky; great if you like them big and powerful. This
bottling is more than 40 years old but has lost none of it’s appeal. Still strong
but not overpowering. Some vanilla and citrus present at the back of your
mouth-almost like the caramelised fruit you’d find in a fruit cake.
A wonderful long finish sitting heavily at the back of your mouth. Sherry
flavours and fruit cake wonderfully balanced
All spirits are sold in measures of 25ml or multiples thereof
All prices listed are for a large measure of 50ml. Should you require a regular measure, please ask.
