692 Glen Ord 12yrs
Northern Highlands, distillery bottling
Boisdale
Sweet and dry malt with sherry notes. Medium to full body, malty and very clean.
Begins simply with the malt, then comes a dash of barley-sugar sweetness and a spicy,
gingery, note with a crisp hit of peat.
744 Glen Ord 25yrs
Northern Highlands, distillery bottling
Full of flavour and very appetising indeed, this is the second special release from the
only Northern Highlands distillery to retain its own maltings. Matured in a mixture of
American and European Oak casks, there are only 3600 numbered bottles worldwide.
Often described as “perilously drinkable”, it has only been available as a single malt in
the last ten years and it is presented in a unique, hand etched Glen Ord decanter. Glen
Ord is fresh, lively with well balanced flavours of honey and lemon juice, some acidity
and dry spices. The finish is medium length crisp, smoky and dry.
820 Glen Scotia 12yrs
Campbeltown, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail
A very nice nose, clear and straight away, very spicy (pepper) where some sherry hints
and hay smell on the background. A very nice complexity. The mouth confirms the
nose, with nice spicy hints, clear chocolate notes, plum hints and a warm finish,
pleasant with nice "pruneaux d'agen" aftertaste. The whole is exceptionally complex,
pleasant and without any aggression. A very nice whisky anyway.
748 Glen Spey 12yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
The whisky is very attractive from the very first nosing with an impression of
lightness, together with some spice hints. The taste confirms the first impression a
finish of average length prolongs the pleasure for some minutes. The second tasting
confirmed the rather pleasant character of this whisky, and the finish seemed longer
than the first time. A rather strong and long aftertaste on malt notes remains for a
while in the palate, and the pleasant spicy taste disappears slowly.
821 Glencadam 1991
Eastern Highlands, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail
Creamy. With dessert, or after dinner.
684 Glen Deveron 12yrs
Eastern Highlands, distillery bottling
Smooth with a touch of sweetness, malt and oak and a fresh nose. A long dry finish.
698 Glendullan 12yrs
Speyside, distillery bottling
Light, dry, malty nose with a hint of fruit. The palate starts dry, becoming buttery,
malty, nutty and lightly fruity whilst the finish is extraordinarily perfumed and long.
