Calydiscoides indianus (Karyakarte and Das,
1978) Oliver, 1987, and its synonyms Lamellospina
Indiana Karyakarte and Das, 1978, and Calydiscoides
indicus Venkatanarsaiah and Kulkarni,
1980, are synonyms of C. flexuosus (Yamaguti,
1953) Young, 1969.
Specimens of Calydiscoides flexuosus from
India, Kuwait, and the Celebes are morphologically
indistinguishable. However, we did observe
some differences in dimensions of the
body and haptoral sclerites (Table 2). Specimens
from the Celebes were somewhat smaller than
those from India, while those from Kuwait were
intermediate in size. These differences are not
considered sufficient to separate the collections

species lack detail and clarity of the morphological
features necessary to identify the species;
our redescription provides details of the morphology
of the sclerotized parts of the haptor
and copulatory complex.
