Calydiscoides indianus (Karyakarte and Das,<br />

1978) Oliver, 1987, and its synonyms Lamellospina<br />

Indiana Karyakarte and Das, 1978, and Calydiscoides<br />

indicus Venkatanarsaiah and Kulkarni,<br />

1980, are synonyms of C. flexuosus (Yamaguti,<br />

1953) Young, 1969.<br />

Specimens of Calydiscoides flexuosus from<br />

India, Kuwait, and the Celebes are morphologically<br />

indistinguishable. However, we did observe<br />

some differences in dimensions of the<br />

body and haptoral sclerites (Table 2). Specimens<br />

from the Celebes were somewhat smaller than<br />

those from India, while those from Kuwait were<br />

intermediate in size. These differences are not<br />

considered sufficient to separate the collections<br />

species lack detail and clarity of the morphological<br />

features necessary to identify the species;<br />

our redescription provides details of the morphology<br />

of the sclerotized parts of the haptor<br />

and copulatory complex.<br />
