Figure 2. The percent yield advantage due to priming of each of 32 paired-plot trials in farmers’<br />

fields in the 1999, 2000 and 2001 seasons combined. Each trial consisted of two plots, both sown<br />

with seed of maize cv. Azam, with primed seed used in one of the plots and non-primed seed used in<br />

the other. Yield advantage in each year was 40% (1999), 57% (2000) and 20% (2001) with an<br />

overall mean of 39%.<br />
