During this period, missionaries also started a number of primary schools in <strong>Bidayuh</strong> villages where<br />

the local dialects, notably Biatah in the Kuching-Padawan region <strong>and</strong> Bukar-Sadung in Serian District,<br />

were used as the medium of instruction. Table 1 lists a few <strong>Bidayuh</strong>-language textbooks developed by the<br />
