They lost 5 players from last year, and, because of budget costs had no J.V. team this year. There were many returning players, but not many of them had much playing experience. However they made the best of what they had; learning to work together and became more focused on their play. The team got off to a slow start but quickly turned it around at the Rutger's Tournament where they posted 2 wins and 2 losses. After this tournament, the Hens won most of their home games and began to have a following by fans. Volleyball Head Coach Barbara Viera said, "We started out really slow. At one point we were 3- 14 and turned it around the second half and went 14-11." During the season, the Hens broke many school records as a team and as individuals. Jill Graber, team captain, broke the school record for the number of assists in a game with 46. In the game against Navy, the team recorded 24 blocks is (assistant coach), Nicole Fisher, Ka- Beegle, Debbie Pick, Barbara Viera tie Nieradka, Liz Herman, Jen Stock, (head coach). Jerelyn Lawson, Phoebe Folk, Karen in a match, which was a season high. Karen Beegle held the career record for the number of digs. Probably the most impressive record set was by Coach Viera when she recorded her 500th career win. At the end of regular season the Hens were 16- 23 and were invited to compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championship.
