Delaware players congratulate each other on another well played game. The Men's Lacrosse team had a very exciting season. This year's team was lead by captains Tom Stanziale, M. V. Whitlow, and Jeff Steigerwald. Coach Bob Shillinglaw said that the team played one of the toughest Division I lacrosse schedules. Despite the difficult schedule, the team won the 154 Men's Lacrosse Scoring Big North Atlantic Conference Championship and also finished 20 in the nation. This excellent season allowed the team to regain national reputation, said Shillinglaw. One of the exciting events of the season was when Tom Stanziale scored his 100 career goal. Stanziale's goal helped to lead the Hens past the University of Pennsylvania in an 11-9 victory, which also ended a two game losing streak. When asked about prospects for next year, Shillinglaw said it looked "very good." — Christy McAllister Bob Welshmer prepared to receive a pass from his teammate.
