Troubleshooting 8 This chapter addresses troubleshooting for the Data Domain system and the NetBackup environment. General Troubleshooting When investigating problems be aware that the Data Domain OST has components on both a Data Domain system and a NetBackup system. The two environments must be compatible. Troubleshooting considerations that apply to both systems follow: • Supported Configurations Ensure that you have a supported configuration. See “Supported Configurations” on page 15. A supported configuration can become unsupported if any of the components changes. • Authorization Failures If you encounter authorization failures, ensure that all of the systems have correct access credentials for the other systems. “Installing OST” on page 19 provides instructions on establishing the necessary user credentials and gives tips for diagnosing and correcting access problems. • List of Credentials From the NetBackup system, use the following command to obtain a list of credentials for all Data Domain systems registered as storage servers: # tpconfig -dsh -all_hosts -stype DataDomain 55
