Notify when a source XAR has been modified When a DataXtend SI XAR is changed or is regenerated while linking the XAR using the Workspace link, a gray icon is added on the XAR and deploy folder. When a XAR folder is linked to a local file system and the contents in the local file system change, you must refresh the project or deploy folder to see the modifications. You must explicitly upload the XAR file again to push the modified contents to Directory Services. Invoking a Typed Service Instance from a Sonic ESB Itinerary This feature provides an interface to be associated with a service configuration. It also provides development-time access to the interface to facilitate creating an invocation step. Sonic 8.5 has introduced a notion of Typed Services wherein a Service Instance will have a typed interface. DataXtend SI service is rewritten as a typed service. You can retrieve an initialized Typed Service instance ESBDL contract from its configuration (XQServiceConfig) in the DS. A Typed Service Instance has many operations available. The interface of each of these operations can be retrieved from its ESBDL. For invoking a Typed Service in Sonic ESB Itinerary, you must: ● Configure a service step to invoke the Typed Service Instance ● Identify the Typed Service Operation ● Map from in-flight process message to the service invocation parameters. On the service return side, map from service output/fault parameters to the next in-flight process message. Improvements for Responsive Business Integration: Sonic and DataXtend SI Configuring a service step to invoke Typed Service Instance In addition to the standard way of configuring a service step in ESB Itinerary, Sonic 8.5 provides an enhanced Project Explorer View, to have all the service instances listed under the Domain node. For typed services such as, DataXtend SI Service, you can further expand the service instance node, to view the list of available operations. Drag and drop on editor canvas is enabled for both service instance & operation nodes. When you dragand-drop a service instance or operation, a new service step is created & configured for that particular service instance and operation. The following screen capture displays a service step in the process itinerary when you drag-and-drop a service operation to the process itinerary: The SI decorator indicates that it is a DataXtend SI data service.
