Por supuesto, tal proposición me parece una generalización exagerada, o más bien
una reducción burda y más que probablemente errada. Como replica con mucha solvencia
Aijaz Ahmad en “Jameson’s Rhetoric of Otherness and the National Allegory”, si bien
Jameson explica bastante bien por qué cree que la producción del Tercer Mundo
(concepto no sólo ya en 1986 un poco obsoleto y hoy por hoy completamente inaplicable,
sino además uno que el propio Jameson admite que es en rigor insostenible) no tiene más
remedio que ser alegoría nacional, nunca justifica del todo por qué la de los países
desarrollados no lo es. Se antoja de todo punto innegable que existe literatura/arte/cultura
“primermundista” de corte alegórico al igual que literatura/arte/cultura “tercermundista”
que no se adecua en absoluto a esa categoría:
[First,] the ideological conditions of a text’s production are never singular but
always several. Second, even if I were to accept Jameson’s division of the globe
into three worlds, I would still have to insist […] that there is right here, within
the belly of the First World’s global postmodernism, a veritable Third World,
