Holding BetHia
crea matriz
vitivinícola
Bethwine es el nombre de la nueva
sociedad creada por el grupo Bethia
y que servirá como paraguas para las
operaciones de sus viñas Indómita y
Santa Alicia.
Bethia holding
incorporates wine
parent company
Bethwine is the name of the new
company incorporated by the Bethia
holding to act as the parent company of
Viña indómita and Viña santa alicia. work
on this administrative platform started
in last may, when the holding acquired
Viña santa alicia and realized that many
administrative positions in santa alicia
and indómita were overlapping, wilfred
leigh, current ceo of Bethwine and
former general manager of indómita
explained. he added that the commercial
and winemaking departments in both
wineries would operate independently.
the ceo reported that this new
structure will place the company among
chile’s 10 largest wine holdings by the
end of the year, given their faster than
expected growth rate. the company
projects sales for some 1.2 to 1.3 million
cases during 2011. Bethwine’s total area
under vine is 800 hectares and although
they presently do not have plans to invest
in new land or wineries, they don’t rule
out that possibility.
Proveedores obtendrían hasta
Us$ 435 millones en ventas
suppliers poised to post up to
usd 435 million in additional
sales from 2020 plan
industry projections of scaling up from 58 to 93 million cases of bottled wine by the end of this decade
imply increasing demand of inputs and services that would translate into estimated additional sales for
usd 435 million for suppliers, rené araneda, chairman of wines of chile, reported.
the chair pointed out that supplier billing accounts for 26% of total annual sales in the wine industry.
he also expressed that in order to attain the proposed goals “joining efforts with all the players in the
value chain and our partners in the partnership program is critical for inputs to be offered at competitive
prices and so that we can rely on their support concerning wine promotion programs.”
Proyectan nUeva aUtoPista
new san fernando - santa cruz highway project
the thriving tourist and business activity generated by the wineries in the colchagua Valley has resulted in a
100% increase in traffic along the san fernando - pichilemu road over the past few years. this is a narrow
one-lane road, sometimes even devoid of a shoulder, that sustains daily traffic of trucks, locals and tourists.
in order to improve road infrastructure, the o’higgins regional government submitted a project to the
ministry of public works’ concession system for a 36-km double-lane highway between san fernando
and santa cruz, which is currently at the last stage of consulting before a call for tender is made public.
one of the critical findings of the study will be the feasibility of operating the highway under concession,
although the authorities do not rule out the possibility of public financing. this initiative is aimed at
reducing the high accident rate in this road and cutting travel time by at least 50%.
