I don’t have to think twice about recommending this master’s degree

programme to anyone who wants to enter this kind of ecosystems because

it will give them a vision and an understanding of the sector that cannot be

understood in a master’s programme that doesn’t have this approach.

what it is and what was involved in your work?

Bcombinator is presented as the hub for startups

made by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. In short,

we want to cover everything that early-stage

entrepreneurs need to go from zero to one. Our

incubation and acceleration programmes, carried

out with an execution-based methodology, is the

centre of it all. We also offer coworking spaces,

networking events and we have our own

investment fund to help these entrepreneurs in

early stages.

My roles are constantly changing, are very

dynamic as is the entire entrepreneurial world. I

worked my first months as an analyst who was

looking at projects and their investment

possibilities, and today I am the portfolio manager

and manage the relationships with all the startups

we have already invested in.

— What did you like the most about the

master’s programme?

Venture capital is a very new and sometimes an

industry that is somewhat closed, so having

teachers with experience in the industry who could

give us a real-life view of how to navigate these

waters has been the most valuable because they

pointed us in the right direction that gave us

opportunities to do research and work effectively

adding great value.

— And what was the most difficult? What was

lacking or what would you improve?

One aspect that would improve and which I would

love to see happen would be the connection of the

master’s degree programme with the industry in

Barcelona. Constant contact with people working

in this ecosystem is a must to stay on top of the real

trends because the latest developments that are

usually relevant to this sector are not found on the

Internet because this information is usually comes

by word of mouth.

— Would you recommend this master’s degree

programme? What advice would you give to

students who are considering it?

I don’t have to think twice about recommending it

to anyone who wants to enter this kind of

ecosystems because it will give them a vision and

an understanding of the sector that cannot be

understood in a master’s programme that doesn’t

have this approach.

My advice is to come with an open mind and be

proactive, with the intention of using the tools

provided to meet the objectives.

— Finally, what are your short- and mediumterm

career ambitions? What are your plans for

the future?

In the short term, I plan to continue growing in this

sector because the growth we are exposed to in

this ecosystem is exponential and the ability to

meet people with experience and with different

ideas is what will feed my future projects, because

in the medium term, I see myself continuing my

career as an entrepreneur, creating different

projects with the support of the network that this

ecosystem allows me to generate.
