CHAPITRE XIII LES PETITS CRISTAUX Un certain nombre de substances, en cristallisant, donne naissance à un corps pulvérulent où les formes cristallines ne sont pas très nettes. Au microscope, la forme de ces cristaux devient très nette. Il suffit pour cela de mettre une pincée de la poudre sur la lamelle. Mais il est bien préférable de procéder ainsi. On fait dissoudre une petite partie de la substance, dans un liquide approprié, l'eau presque toujours, et on dispose une goutte de la solution sur la lame de verre. On laisse le tout au repos pendant un certain temps. L'eau de la goutte se concentre de plus en plus, et le sel cristallise sur la plaque même. Vue au microscope, la place occupée précédemment par la goutte saline se montre semée de très jolis petits cristaux.
