Aricie in the USA. Robert Getchell has appeared<br />

at many festivals, including Utrecht, Versailles,<br />

Ambronay, Beaune, and Freiburg. He also<br />

frequently performs the oratorio repertoire<br />

in concert in the Nether<strong>la</strong>nds, the USA and<br />

France, notably in the Bach Passions and<br />

Han<strong>de</strong>l’s Messiah.<br />

Rolf Ehlers, high tenor<br />

Rolf Ehlers was born in Wiesba<strong>de</strong>n in 1969. From<br />

1990 to 1997 he studied musicology and German<br />

and Italian culture at Freiburg im Brisgau and<br />

Cremona, while training as a singer with Martin<br />

Ohm, Philipp Heizmann and Winfried Toll. He<br />

appears as a tenor in professional ensembles<br />

in Germany and Switzer<strong>la</strong>nd (Camerata Vocale<br />

Freiburg, Kammerchor Stuttgart, Balthasar-<br />

Neumann-Chor, Chamber Choir of Europe,<br />

Schweizer Kammerchor, ChorWerk Ruhr). In<br />

addition he has an active solo career <strong>de</strong>voted<br />

mostly to early music, including countertenor<br />

repertory, with such groups as the Dufay-<br />

Ensemble, Frankfurt a Cappel<strong>la</strong>, and L’Aura<br />

Soave Cremona. He has also ma<strong>de</strong> numerous<br />

appearances in the field of contemporary<br />

music, with Scho<strong>la</strong> Hei<strong>de</strong>lberg, the Basler<br />

Madrigalisten, and the Anton-Webern-Chor<br />

of Freiburg. Since 1994, he has been the<br />

administrator of several musical structures in<br />

Germany, including Camerata Vocale Freiburg<br />

and the Cologne Chamber Orchestra.<br />

Als Tenor wirkt er in verschie<strong>de</strong>nen professionellen<br />

Kammerchören in Deutsch<strong>la</strong>nd und in <strong>de</strong>r Schweiz<br />

(Camerata Vocale Freiburg, Kammerchor Stuttgart,<br />

Balthasar-Neumann-Chor, Chamber Choir of<br />

Europe, Schweizer Kammerchor, ChorWerk<br />

Ruhr, Amsterdam Baroque Choir, Deutscher<br />

Kammerchor) mit und nimmt solistische Aufgaben,<br />

auch als Altus, im Bereich <strong>de</strong>r Alten Musik (im<br />

Dufay-Ensemble, bei Frankfurt a Cappel<strong>la</strong>, usw)<br />

wahr. Zahlreiche Mitwirkungen auch im Bereich<br />

<strong>de</strong>r Neuen Musik (Scho<strong>la</strong> Hei<strong>de</strong>lberg, Basler<br />

Madrigalisten, Anton-Webern-Chor Freiburg).<br />

Seit 1994 wur<strong>de</strong>n ihm Organisationsaufgaben im<br />

Musikbereich übertragen (SWR-Studio Freiburg.<br />

Bachfest <strong>de</strong>r Internationalen Bachgesellschaft,<br />

Geschäftsführung <strong>de</strong>r Camerata Vocale Freiburg,<br />

Kölner Kammerorchester).<br />
