Dans la région étasunienne des Grands Lacs, 2013 fut une<br />
année de changement. De nouvelles constructions venues<br />
d’outre-mer ont commencé à faire escale dans les ports américains<br />
et la flotte des Grands Lacs a mis en œuvre un programme<br />
de remplacement des systèmes propulsifs qui rendra<br />
le transport de vrac bien plus écologique dans les prochaines<br />
années. De surcroît, plusieurs postes de direction importants<br />
ont changé de main.<br />
Il y a eu deux changements de garde de part et d’autre<br />
de la région étasunienne du réseau navigable Saint-Laurent–<br />
Grands Lacs en 2013. En août, Betty Sutton a prêté le serment<br />
d’entrée en fonction pour devenir la nouvelle administratrice<br />
de la Saint. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation<br />
(SLSDC). M me Sutton succède à l’administrateur adjoint de<br />

Newbuilds from overseas began to call on U.S.<br />
ports, and the Great Lakes fleet was in the midst of<br />
a changeover of propulsion systems that will make<br />
bulk shipping on the Lakes far more environmentally<br />
sensitive for years to come. Moreover, several important<br />
executive posts in the U.S. Great Lakes changed<br />
hands.<br />
Two personnel changes at oppo<strong>site</strong> ends of the<br />
U.S. Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway bookended<br />
2013. In August, Betty Sutton took the oath of office<br />
as the new Administrator of the St. Lawrence Seaway<br />
Development Corporation. Ms. Sutton succeeded<br />
SLSDC Deputy Administrator Craig Middlebrook,<br />
